R.eaders I.mbibing P.eril is a challenge that has been running for the past 9 years. I think I may have stumbled on it in the past, but this is the first year it has really caught my eye and with my reading habits, it's perfect for me - especially this time of the year. This year, for the first time, it is being hosted by The Estrellla Society and basically there are a few different challenges. The challenge runs from September 1st - October 31st and you can read anything which falls into the following categories:
MYSTERY
SUSPENSE
THRILLER
DARK FANTASY
GOTHIC
HORROR
SUPERNATURAL
GOTHIC
HORROR
SUPERNATURAL
Here's what I plan on doing and what I have to choose from:
READ 4 BOOKS FROM THE ABOVE CATEGORIES: |
READ SOME SHORT STORIES |
WATCH SCARY MOVIES |
Great list, the covers already look suitably creepy :) I really enjoy Connolly's works and Poe's short stories. I didn't sign up for Peril on the Screen, might it might be time to finally watch Let the Right One in :) Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI have trouble with short stories too. Even though they are short, I keep pushing them aside because they are short. Well, actually read one from my pick but didn't much care for it so will have to try another collection.
ReplyDeleteI liked Connolly's The Book of Lost Things, but I didn't know he had a short story collection. I might have to give it a look!
ReplyDeleteLindsey, he actually is releases Nocturnes 2 in October so I look forward to reading them both. I really like his writing but feel I haven't read enough of his stuff.
