Agreeing to represent Beatrice, a black cat who's the beneficiary of a multi-million dollar trust and a plantation, Sally must put her wit, charm, and brains to the test, choosing among three colorful potential caregivers while dodging the former owner's angry son. Meanwhile, Sally must juggle the demands of the court with those of her aging mother and make a decision about Tony, who wants to get more serious. Lawyer for the Cat is Southern women's fiction at its most delightful, featuring strong, smart characters, a charming setting, and plenty of adorable critters.
WHY I'M WAITING: Yes, no need to adjust your screen, that really is a book with a cat on the cover. Please don't tell Booker T! I read Robinson's book "Lawyer for the Dog" last year and absolutely loved it. I can't wait to see what happens when Sally Baynard ends up representing a cat this time around. I love the whole cast of characters and really hope Sherman makes a guest appearance.
What are you waiting for this week?
Well that is definitely one I haven't heard of. I hope you love it!

Looks interesting. I haven't heard of this one or the first one. I hope you enjoy it when you get to read it. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Thanks for sharing and enjoy. Here's mine: “IT ENDS WITH US”
ReplyDeleteOh, I read LFTD too and really enjoyed it! I'll look forward to your review once you read that one! (I'm not sure I've read a book with a cat as a central character before!)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, this sounds like fun! I'll have to check it out:-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha, this sounds like fun! I'll have to check it out:-)
ReplyDeleteI have seen a few cases like these on shows and looked some up and it's insane people leaving their fortunes to their pets! This is both intriguing and strange (in a fun way). Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOoh you traitor! Going cat??!!! *giggles*
ReplyDeleteI will always be a dog person through and through. I have only liked one, maybe two cats in my life. That isn't to say I hate them per se, I just believe there are a lot of differences between cat and dog lovers and I fall in the dog category. While I never want to see a cat hurt, I don't want any around me either - haha. (except Snowball, the neighborhood cat that adopted us and is smart enough to stay out of the back yard).
DeleteSounds cute. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that Booker allowed you to pick this book :) It does sound like a cute story. Enjoy!

ReplyDeletehaha you are funny. I did not adjust my screen but I did frown :) Have fun Barb
ReplyDeleteOhh great pick Barb! This is actually the first time I heard about this book and series, and it looks and sounds absolutely fantastic! Thank you for stopping by my blog my friend.
ReplyDeleteOMG, what a GORGEOUS cat!! And, of course, that means the cover is gorgeous, as well.
ReplyDeleteThis one sure sounds like it will be full of very funny scenes in which the humans might just be upstaged by the critters! Lol. And the relationship between Sally and Tony is definitely one that I know I'd enjoy reading about.
Looks like you've picked the perfect summer read, Barb! GREAT choice!!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my WOW!! :)
