Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books. It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
FROM GOODREADS: A chilling, lavishly illustrated who's-who of the most despicable people ever to walk the earth, featuring both rare and best-loved stories from the hit podcast Lore, soon to be an online streaming series.
Here are the incredible true stories of some of the mortals who achieved notoriety in history and folklore through horrible means. Monsters of this sort - serial killers, desperate criminals, and socially mobile people with a much darker double-life - are, in fact, quite real . . . including H. H. Holmes, the infamous Chicago serial killer; William Brodie, the Edinburgh criminal mastermind who inspired The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; and Bela Kiss, a Hungarian tinsmith with a most disturbing hobby: collecting women in gasoline drums.
As Aaron Mahnke reminds us, sometimes the truth is even scarier than the lore.
WHY I CAN'T WAIT: I have a beautiful hardback of the first in this series which was a complete impulse buy but I've read enough of it to know I'm going to love it. I was thrilled when I saw there was another coming out!
WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK???
Ah, that cover!! Hope you love this one!
ReplyDeleteI just recently heard about the TV show and I'm intrigued. I didn't even know about this until I saw the creepy trailer!
ReplyDeleteI like the cover and it sounds interesting. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds amazing, I hope you enjoy it, Barb - and I look forward to hearing what you make of it:)

ReplyDeleteI really need to find out what Lore is all about. I was drawn into the cover of the first one, and now I'm seeing it everywhere. I've never listened to the podcast so I'm still kind of clueless.
ReplyDeleteThat is a gorgeous cover indeed, and I am sooo intrigued by the blurb! I'm looking forward to your review, Barb!

OMG, my knees started knocking together just from reading the Goodreads blurb....lol. Not my cup of tea at all, Barb!
ReplyDeleteYou mentioned in your comment on my blog that it's as cold as Alaska where you are. Gee, I wish I were there!! Mind sending some snow down here? We've been having temps in the 80s!! ME NO LIKEE!!! LOL. :) :)
Whether it's hot or cold, I do think that staying in on New Year's Eve is a wise choice. There are too many nut jobs out on the street, and some of them STILL think that shooting guns off into the air is a FUN thing to do!! And there are the drunk crazies who get behind the wheel!!
Anyway, hope you enjoy this book!! :) :)
Thanks for commenting on my CWW post!! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!! HUGS TO YOU & THE BOYS, AND WOOF, WOOF TO THEM!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
Ooh! I gotta check this out! I LOVE the Lore Podcast!
