So this week we are sharing our favorite books so far this year. This might be a tad redundant with my mid-year freak out tag but I still hope you find it interesting. So here we go!
I'm kind of cheating with "The Outsider" because I just finished it this July, but even though my review isn't up yet, I absolutely loved it! "Snowblind" was a book I've been meaning to read for ages and am so glad I finally made time for it this year.
I've made it a point to read some science fiction this year and I really loved "The Prey of Gods" as well as "Outpost." I can't recommend either enough.
It's just a coincidence that both of my pup faves happened to be Basset Hounds (don't tell Cass and Booker T) but I loved Socrates from "Pawprints & Predicaments" as well as the opinionated Elvis from the Southern Cousins mysteries.
I sort of have a hit-or-miss relationship with thrillers but here are two that were absolute hits for me. "Into the Back Nowhere" is the continuation of the UNSUB series and "Let Me Lie" was my first Mackintosh read but not my last.
And what's a list without a few great creatures - the giant iguanas from "Jurassic Florida" and a prehistoric shark from "MEG."
So there you have it. Some of my faves broken down into some of my favorite categories. Did any of these make your list.
I've only read the last two books but I do have my eye on Snowblind now! I like these blizzard settings and this one sounds creepy. After reading Bark's review, I'll be taking plenty notes to keep everyone straight in my head as I have a poor memory!
ReplyDeleteThe setting was like a character of its own. I think you might like it.
DeleteAWESOME LIST!!! I need to get to The Outsider and The Meg ASAP!
ReplyDeleteYes you do!
DeleteGreat list! You're making me excited to read The Outsider. I'm really glad to see Outpost here, I feel like we're the only two bloggers who had read it, lol.
ReplyDeleteI keep recommending it. Maybe it will catch on. Hope I can get my hands on an arc of the next one!
DeleteThat's not cheating if you loved it then it counts simple as that lol. I am glad you've had so many awesome reads!
ReplyDeleteI love the way you think Eve!
DeleteI think you have me convinced to read The Outsider! I haven't read Stephen King in years. I enjoyed Let me Lie as well.
ReplyDeleteDo it! Do it! Do it!
DeleteThe Prey of Gods does look like an interesting read.
ReplyDeleteThis is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I think more people should read it.
DeleteThanks for visiting my blog. I haven't read any of your selections but I always scrutinize people's favorites lists...checking around for gems!
ReplyDeleteYep, it's always fun to find hidden gems!
DeleteOutpost was on Tammy's list too! I really gotta get my hands on a copy of that. :)
ReplyDeleteYou do. Tammy and I both want more people to love it!
DeleteI've read both your creature stories and loved them. I'll be checking out some of the others.

Summer is such a great time for creature books!
DeleteLooks like we've enjoyed many of the same books. I need to check out some of these I've not read yet.
ReplyDeleteWe do share similar tastes.
DeleteI have only read one book from your list, Into the Black Nightmare, which I did enjoy. I am noticing that we don't seem to be reading as many of the same books as we used to. I need to start mixing things up a bit more.
ReplyDeleteI think we're both just branching out. And you seem to be reading so much lately (which is awesome). I did just finish The Mermaid and I know you recently read that one - I loved it BTW!
DeleteI've not read a lot of these but I did love the Prey of Gods and I've just read Tammy's review for Jurassic Florida which sounds almost like a fun, over the top, horror - if you can have horror that is fun!
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
That's a great way to describe it. I have such a soft spot for Hunter Shea's books!
DeleteI just put off posting my mid-year book freak out tag because of this week's TTT because I will be repeating myself a little. Intrigued by The Outsider!
ReplyDeleteI did my list in this format so as to not get to repetitive. Can't wait to see your tag!
DeleteLet Me Lie was really good. All Mackintosh's books have been fabulous.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that!
DeleteGreat list of good books!! Some on here I need to try still!
ReplyDeleteYou need to start the Elvis series.
DeleteOoh Let Me Lie. I need to read some Mackintosh.
ReplyDeleteIt's one the best thrillers I've read in a long time.
DeleteElvis! That cover is stupidly cute! I totally agree about Meg Gardiner btw. HAve you tried any of her other books?
ReplyDeleteElvis is so awesome. In between chapters, you sometimes get chapters from Elvis' POV. They're great.
DeleteWow, all of these are new to me, even the Stephen King! Unexpected turn of events :) I'll have to check them out.
ReplyDeleteThe King book is WONDERFUL.
DeleteSome very interesting titles you have here!
ReplyDeleteI love that you chose categories. I still need to read The Outsider. I’m having Stephen King withdrawals.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I have a copy of The Outsider but haven't had a chance to get around to reading it yet. It's reassuring to see that you think so highly of it, though!
ReplyDeleteSnowblind and Outpost are lined up for me to read BECAUSE all the fangirling I saw here :)
ReplyDelete"The Pups" both look like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteHow is YOUR pup doing? Is his eye feeling better?
I haven't read a lot of Stephen King's books - yet - but I do own several of them. Maybe when I get through them, I'll pick up The Outsider as well. :D Especially since a lot of people are raving about it.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of either of those sci-fi titles but I'm about to go look them up on goodreads! love me some good sci-fi
