This week has been forever long. I had training 2 days this week (Thursday and Friday) and the only real good thing about it was it was local and I didn't have to drive much to get there. Booker T's blood work came back and he was okay, but he was at the high end of acceptable for his kidney functioning (which they monitor because of his new meds) so of course I stressed about that for a few days.
We have been watching some TV/movies. We finished Part 2 of "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina." I liked it and am glad it has been renewed. We also watched "The Silence" which is new on Netflix. Some are saying it's a rip off of "Bird Box" but it's actually from the Tim Lebbon book of the same name and I found it to be pretty entertaining. Finally, we can't forget that the final seasons of "Games of Thrones" starts Sunday night. It's been so long and while it's sad that it's the last season, I'm anxious to see how it ends.
My reading in April has kind of been non-existent. I even had a DNF - more on that in the near future. I HAVE to get some reading done this weekend. Here are the three books I have slated and "The Dark Game" and "Magic Bleeds" are priority.
Finally I snagged three ARCs from Midnight Ink, one of my favorite publishers. I've liked the books I've read from Ann Aguirre so I think I'll enjoy "The Third Mrs. Durst." "Murderabilia" sounds like a good mystery/thriller and you have to know I couldn't resist requesting "The Time for Murder is Meow" when I saw it was the first in a new series - The Purr N' Bark Pet Shop Mysteries. Don't they look awesome?
So what did you guys add this week and what are you reading now?
Hmm, I confess I don't know much about Midnight Ink as a publisher, but wow, their books do look good!

Yea, they do a lot of mysteries and cozies. For that genre, they are kind of my go-to publishers. Kensington is good in that genre as well.
DeleteToo bad you had a DNF, but maybe your current books are good. I am reading Tina Glasneck's Hellish, a NA fantasy. It's pretty fun!
ReplyDeleteIt was The River and it's seems to be getting a lot of hype. I meant to finish it but stopped about 100 pages short and after several days, decided I just didn't care.
DeleteI'm very anxious about Game of Thrones! I know some of my favourites are going to die and I'm expecting to cry a lot! I would like to see Sansa die personally! And Cersei of course.
ReplyDeleteI want Sansa to die too. I want someone to smack that smug look off her face.
DeleteI am very excited for the GoT final season on sunday. Our cable provider doesn't have HBO anymore so I have to sign up for HBO Now which stinks because I don't think I will be able to record them on my DVR. I watched the last two episodes of the previous season last night to get ready! Enjoy your books. I haven't read much either this month.
ReplyDeleteAt least you found a way to watch it. March was such a fantastic reading month and for some reason, that really made me scared for April.
DeleteHope Booker T is OK! It's hard to believe April is half over. I just don't know why time can't slow down when I'm at home, but speed up when I'm at work🤣
ReplyDeleteHe seems to be. We tried cutting his Rimadyl down last week but it doesn't have the desired effect so I think he's going to have to stay on full strength.
DeleteI hope your puppy is ok and the new meds keep working. He is such a cute!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen game of thrones in a while. I want to catch up but don't want to pay for HBO Go. Maybe when it's over I will binge watch it again or just watch the last episode. I still need to check out Sabrina but I found a new show on Netflix called Black Summer. I am so curious but zombies scare me and I need someone else to watch it to let me know if it's really scary lol
I hope you have a great week, Barb! Happy Reading! xx
I hope you enjoy Black Summer. We finished it Saturday night!
DeleteI'm glad Booker T's blood work is OK, even if it is at the higher end... Hopefully, he'll keep getting better with his new meds!
ReplyDeleteYour new books look good! I love the cover for The Third Mrs. Durst - it makes me want to read the book :)
Have a wonderful weekend and happy reading.

The problem we worry about is the new meds can negatively effect his kidneys so we have to keep a close eye on it.
DeleteI'm so excited about Game of Thrones! Hopefully the Internet won't break with all the reactions. :)
ReplyDeleteI bet it was close to breaking!
DeleteHope you are enjoying Dark Game and can't wait till you start Magic Bleeds! The books you grabbed look interesting!!
ReplyDeleteIt was really good - now bring on Curran!
DeleteI've been training all week too. My brain is fried. That was just the computer training. Now I'm on the job training. I need a vacation. LOL I can't wait to binge Sabrina. I'm still not finished with the 1st season. GOT will be keeping me glued too!
ReplyDeleteMine was only 2 days on a special topic. I have a harder time sitting still for 2 days than I actually do working my job.
DeleteI did not know The Silence was based on a book. I might just check it out now. Hope you have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteI wish things would just slow down a little bit - this year feels like it's flying by at breakneck speed. Hope your pup is okay. And happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI like the look of The Third Mrs Durst - look forward to reading your thoughts on that one.

ReplyDeleteEveryone has been high on GoT. Ha ha. I haven't seen it since finishing the third season when I got rid of our cable, but I think the library has all the past seasons on DVD, so I can still catch up. 👍✨
ReplyDeleteI think it would actually be easier to binge watch. That's how we watched the first three seasons. There's been too much time passed and I forget things.
