TTT - Characters I'd Like to Be For a Day

The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish they  handed over the reins to ThatArtsyReaderGirl who can be found HERE.  Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week's topic is "Characters that remind me of myself."  I thought and I thought and this really doesn't work for me.  For the most part, I'm happy being me and I don't really see myself in the books I read.  However, I did think it would be fun to be some characters for a day - so you're getting that list instead.

Winnie-the-Pooh - I'd love to be Pooh for a day.  I'd meander around 100 Acre Woods and see all my best buds.  Maybe eat some honey and nap along a stream.  I think Pooh knows how to live his best life don't you?

Lorelai Gilmore - Nope not a book character but she is one of my favorite characters of all time and I've said it before and I'll say it again - my blog my rules :)  I love her snarky wit and hey, there's coffee and Luke so what's not to love?

Lindsey Norris - Lindsey lives in a quaint little seaside town where she works as the head librarian. She has lots of cool quirky friends, a great boyfriend and an awesome dogs.  She gets in over her head sometimes solving mysteries but I think I could manage to stay alive for a day.

Veronica Speedwell - She's smart, headstrong and independent.  She speaks her mind and stands up to anyone who gets in her way.  And oh yea, there is STOKER!

Daphne Templeton - Daphne lives in a great pet-centric town and she has one of the quirkiest friends I've seen in a cozy mystery - Moxie.

So there you have it - my top five. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this week.

  1. Ah, who wouldn't want to be Winnie the Pooh? Actually, on stressful days, the idea of a laid back afternoon in 100 Acre Wood just hanging out with a jar of honey sounds amazing :)

    1. I actually saw Pooh on quite a few lists today. My husband always makes fun of Pooh (just because he knows I love him) and calls him a dimwit. I always tell him he's not evolved enough to understand him :)

  2. Pooh! Wandering around the woods, eating honey and relaxing, now that's my kind of day! I think I might have wanted to be Lindsey Norris at some point in my life lol (mysteries and all!)

    1. Yes Lindsey always seems to have fun and she has such a great cast of supporting characters.

  3. Pooh definitely has it made - I could live a day in his red t-shirt.

  4. Great twist on the topic. And I love that you love being you, I sort of feel the same way about myself😁 Also, Pooh is a great choice!

    1. Yea, I don't really see myself in book characters. But there are a few I've always thought were fun. I was trying to keep it near the original topic but still applicable.

  5. Being Winnie-the-Pooh would be so much fun. Have you seen either of the films about this character that came out recently?

    1. No Lydia. I actually want to but I'm a baby and know they will both make me cry. I just recently bought the "Goodbye Christopher Robin" book though.

  6. I can definitely relate a lot to aspects of Lorelai's personality!

    1. She is a blast. I'm slowly rewatching the whole series but since I've seen it at least 5 times, this time isn't going as fast.

  7. Oh my gosh, I love that Pooh's on your list! Hadn't even thought of him (and I was always more of an Eeyore person), but I do agree that he's living his best life. Something I could probably learn to do more. :3

Lorelei's another great one, too. I always did love her character! Plus, it's hard to go wrong with coffee and Luke. ;)

    Here's my TTT post.

  8. Winnie-the-Pooh! That's so cute. I wouldn't mind spending a day in Pooh's shoes. Great choices!

  11. There's a lot of characters I'd want to be... for a day... but not for much longer than that. Most of them have difficult lives. Winnie the Pooh's day would probably be quite relaxing!

    1. Yes a day is about all I could manage with some. I'd probably end up getting myself killed with some of the books I read.

  12. Yes to Pooh. Except I would want to wear pants. lol

    1. But why? If you were a bear, would you really care?

  13. I don't really see myself in my book characters which is probably a good thing with the genres I read! I agree with Jolene...I'd want to wear trousers or PJs!

    1. Yea, lots of danger in your favorite reads. I can see the appeal of pants on Pooh but if I was Pooh, I wouldn't care because I'd be a bear :)

  14. Hmmm still never watched Gilmore Girls. *hides* :)

    1. You should at least watch one episode. You would be able to tell right away if you would like it. Mr. Barb HATES it because Lorelei gets on his nerves. She's VERY sarcastic, snarky and chatty!

  15. Yeah, I found this theme really difficult. I genuinely don't really see myself in the characters I read so I went down what I consider a more 'silly' route! I want to be Pooh Bear for the day. Such fun.

    1. Yes, I think a lot of use bookworms see the appeal of being Pooh.

  16. When my son was doing kids theater all the moms watched the Gilmore Girls, but I never started. I think it's because they watched it with their daughters. Now that Baz doesn't watch anything with me anymore I should see if the library has the DVDs because I certainly agree with the martini sentiment. 😂

    1. I watched it with Mr. Barb - and he hated it. Yes you should definitely check it out. I know they are all on Netflix if you have access to them.
