TTT - Books From My Favorite Genre

The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish they  handed over the reins to ThatArtsyReaderGirl who can be found HERE.  Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week's topic is books from our favorite genres.  Honestly, I feel like I've done this quite a bit and I read so many different genres it's hard for me to come up with something fresh.  So basically I'm switching it up a tad and sharing books I read strictly because there was a dog on the cover.  Now as you can imagine, this tactic has sometimes burned me because people like to show cute pups to sell books and pay no attention to what is actually IN the book.  And well, sometimes I will find a winner.  I'm also trying to share some older titles so you guys don't have to see the same old books all the time. Here we go!

I read this in 2003 and just recently discovered there were more in the series I need to check out.

This was a 2004 read and while I don't remember much about it, I do recall liking it.  I would not have picked it up if it hadn't been for the cover though.

Not something I would normally pick up but this dog did me in.  And then when I read the synopsis and learned that his name was Fred, I was sold.

I know I grabbed this non-fiction in 2007 because of the boxer on the cover.  And I recall that the copy I own was chewed on by my pup back then.  Seems fitting.

In 2008 I thought I had struck gold with a dog AND Dean Koontz.  However, this really wasn't a standout read for me.  Still love the cover though.

Could you resist this cover if you passed by it by on a shelf?  I think not:)  The book was pretty good but let's be honest, without that cover, I probably wouldn't have given it a second look.

See that cute dog in the corner?  That's all I saw.  I liked this book but never continued on with the series. The author is an actress and was on the Buffy show so I'm surprised this series wasn't talked about more.

I don't know if I read this synopsis at all but I ended up liking this book just fine with only the dog on the cover.

This book was WEIRD.  Which usually works for me but in this case did not.  And technically the dogs on the cover weren't that appealing either so I'm not sure WHY I read this.

Saw this at the library and immediately brought it home to read.  Cute book but even cuter pugs.
