This week's topic is CHARACTER TRAITS I LOVE. Is it just me struggling with some of these topics lately? I think I'll just shoot for 5.
FUR!
It's no secret I love pups and some of my favorite authors have introduced me to some great dogs. Maybe was always Booker T's book girlfriend and Jack is just awesome. And if you love dogs and aren't reading Lucy Dillon, what's wrong with you???
SNARKY ATTITUDES
Give me a snarky character and I'll definitely give the book a chance. Gert, Mila and Callie are just few of the ones I've encountered and thoroughly enjoyed.
HEAD STRONG WOMEN
I love women who have men in their lives because they WANT to, not because they NEED to. These books definitely have women who can handle their own crap - Diana, Kate and Mercy.
MEN WITH FUR
Yes, I know that just doesn't sound right, but you get the idea right? I love my sexy shifters. Simon and Curran are both awesome and the Sookie series has two of my faves - Sam and Alcide.
WOMEN WITH BRAINS
This is kind of in the same category as head strong women but these women are ones who use their detectives skills to outwit suspicious culprits. Lady Sherlock and Veronica are awesome historical figures while Caitlin Hendrix is much more current.
So there you have it. I managed five so I'm done :)
Be still my heart, the cover for Lonely Dogs and Lost Hearts is just adorable! And Unsub! You reminded me about that series and I definitely need to read the first one!
ReplyDeleteThe whole Dillon series has the best covers. Such cute dogs. I feature them whenever I can.
DeleteYes to women with brains! It's always nice to see an intelligent woman.
ReplyDeleteI agree. And Veronica and Lady Sherlock are two of the best I've ran into while reading.
DeleteFur is one of my favorite traits too lol. I hope to start reading A Discovery of Witches this month!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you love it!
DeleteMen with fur! That's one I haven't run across today, but it's a good one. I love shifters as well😁
ReplyDeleteYea it sounded really weird as I was typing it but I figured WTH :)
DeleteI think fur is my favourite trait inside and outside of books! If everyone was a dog the world would be a much better place
ReplyDeleteTruer words have never been said!
DeleteI like you list. I need to pick up Sherry Thomas's series.
ReplyDeleteI'm two behind but hope to catch up soon. I did love the first one.
DeleteYes to fur! It's always fun to read about canine characters.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Fur rocks right?
Deleteso many good looking ones, i can't pick a favorite, but i do love men with fur. lol

Yep there's something about those shifters. As much as I love vampires (as long as they don't sparkle) I've always loved my werewolves best of all.
DeleteHahaha! Puppy characters are the BEST characters! I do have a few books with dogs as the MC but I'll admit I've never read one.
ReplyDeleteI STILL need to read A Dog's Promise and the rest of the series but I just know I'll cry!
DeleteI'm with you on women with brains! There's nothing I hate more than a stupid girl in a book.
ReplyDeleteThey are soooo annoying.
DeleteMew with fur and women with brains. LOL This was fun:)
ReplyDeleteNow that's a combo right?
DeleteYes to all of these! I love your men with fur category :)
ReplyDeleteI love it too even though it sounds all kinds of wrong.
DeleteLove your examples- they all look like good reads! Especially the Sherry thomas books. and a little snark always helps!
ReplyDeleteSnark is awesome. Perhaps because I like to be snarky myself.
DeleteI love the way it says 'men with fur'! It just made me giggle and an image of the Cowardly Lion came to mind! I wasn't feeling inspired by this topic yesterday but maybe I should cobble something today if I get time!
ReplyDeleteYes, even as a child the Cowardly Lion was my favorite Oz character - well, and Toto.
DeleteWomen with brains is one of mine, too! 👍✨
ReplyDeleteYou know I love a good fur baby read. 🐾✨
Yes you do! I know I can always share my love of furbabies with you and Jo.
DeleteLove the choice of “women with brains!”
ReplyDeleteYes, sometimes they get so overlooked.

ReplyDeleteObviously yes to fur. Fur characters are the best.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes I have struggled with some of the topics too. Some periods the topics work better for me than others.
Glad other people don't always find them easy. I visit other blogs and am always so impressed with what people come up with.
DeleteMen with fur - definitely.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
They are the best!
DeleteLOL! I love the "fur" pick! I agree!!
ReplyDeleteYay!
