MY THOUGHTS: So I'll let you in on a secret. I used to watch a lot of Rugrats, along with Doug. Does anyone even remember Doug and his dog Porkchop? I enjoyed Tommy Pickles and his sister Angelica, Chuckie Finster and even Baby Dil. So when I was browsing the graphic novel selection at one of my local libraries one day and saw this, I knew it was going home with me.
Basically this is just a cute short book of adult lessons spelled out Rugrats style. They are all sharing rules they learned as kids which easily translate over to adulthood. The artwork is colorful and fun. This book lends itself to nostalgia so basically if you aren't a fan, I really can't recommend you pick it up. However, if you are a closet Rugrats fan like me, it's good for a few chuckles.
Oh my, this brings me back - I used to watch a lot of Rugrats and Doug too :D

Such cute cartoons. There doesn't seem to be a lot of cartoons out in the same style now although I do enjoy Teen Titans.
DeleteI may not be a fan, but I totally get the nostalgia bit -- And let's face it, they're utterly adorable!
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty cute. Especially Baby Dil.
DeleteI remember Rugrats, although I wasn't as big a fan as you were. But I'll bet this was nostalgic to read๐
ReplyDeleteIt was and it took over 1/2 hour one night while I was watching the playoffs so that's a plus.
DeleteI have watched so much of this show. This was really popular when my 25 year old was little and it was one of the shows that I didn't mind so much. This looks like a fun one, Barb!
ReplyDeleteYea, some cartoons are downright annoying. When my cousins lived with my Gpa, their daughter was obsessed with Pepa Pig. I would shove forks in my eyes if I had to watch that show too long!
DeleteI think its adorable you love Rugrats Barb! :) I never watched but always thought it looked adorable. Adult lessons Rugrats style! That sounds fantastic! I'm glad you found it since you were such a fan :)
ReplyDeleteYea, sometimes browsing at the library pays off. It's fun to grab things you don't expect.
DeleteMy daughter was born in 1991 so I watched a lot of Doug and Rugrats with her.
ReplyDeleteI think I actually liked Doug a tad bit more but there was a dog so that's to be expected right?
DeleteMy kids watched Rugrats so I watched Rugrats, lol.
ReplyDeleteThat's usually how it goes right?
DeleteI never watched either of the shows you mentioned. I'm not really a cartoon kind of person. The last I watched was back when I was at college!
ReplyDeleteI'm not huge on them but do enjoy them from time to time.
DeleteGood for a few chuckles - is that a pun? Lol
ReplyDeleteI did used to watch the Rugrats although not all the time, I've always been a bit sporadic with tv. This sounds like a fun and nostalgic read though.
Lynn :D
Ding ding ding - you got it! It was a cute read and it was a library book so that's good too.
DeleteThat's funny. I was in a meeting just last week that turned into a discussion about Rugrats. :) I had forgotten about Doug!
ReplyDeleteHow ironic! How can you forget Doug? :)
DeleteI LOVED Doug!! :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Why am I not surprised since we share a lot of the same tastes.
DeleteI had to watch all of those cartoons because they were the popular ones when Baz was young, but both his dad and I loved them, too! Ha ha. This book does look cute. ๐
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have kids because you can always use them as an excuse huh?
