This week I'm sharing with you books I've read which I think would maker perfect summer reads.
UNTIL SUMMER COMES AROUND - This was a very recent read and everything about it screams Summer!
NI JUDGMENTS - This book is set in the middle of a hurricane so yep, it has a summer feel.
CAMPFIRE - I had tons of fun with this book and doesn't every summer needs a slasher/camping tale?
SMOTHERED - This was a Goodreads win and it was such a fun read. The MC has just graduated college and has to enter the real world. Nothing like that summer after college for a rude awakening.
ABOUT A DOG - Nothing says summer like romance and dogs.
So I'm leaving it at five this week because honestly, for someone who reads a lot of horror/thrillers, I am finding this kind of difficult.
Have you read any of these books or better yet, can you recommend any great summer horror reads?
The campfire book is an inspired choice for this week's theme.

It was a fun read. I do recommend it but people need to take it for what it is - a fun campy read.
DeleteSmothered sounds like fun! And mostly because I can laugh at someone else's rude awakening (that said, it can be a tough time). And of course, summer and dogs are <3
ReplyDeleteAnd it's told in different forms - with texts, emails, etc so it's such a quick read.
DeleteI love this list, and I knew you would include a book with a dog. Dogs just feel like summer to me anyway, so it works😁
ReplyDeleteOf course, I always have to include dogs where I can.
Deletea good variety

Thanks. I am such an eclectic reader really even though I do have my faves.
DeleteAbout a Dog sounds adorable.
ReplyDeleteMy TTT .
It's super cute. I need to continue on with the series.
DeleteThese all sound like GREAT reads!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Donna!
DeleteGreat choices! I think I want to read all of these. :)
ReplyDeleteYay! Job done :)
DeleteI feel you. I read mostly mystery/thrillers and they usually have dark, cold, foreboding settings. I haven't read any of your books and I'm not huge on horror either, so I'm useless for recommendations. Sorry!
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
That's okay. I always find great recommendations when I visit your blog :)
DeleteOkay, I'm officially excited for Smothered, if only because I can't remember ever seeing a single other book set immediately after graduating from college and focusing on that fact. Reading that it is told via different formatting is just icing. Thanks for another interesting rec!
ReplyDeleteAnd the author is actually Michael Chiklis' daughter (Of The Shield) which intrigued me ever more.
DeleteCampfire! I think I remember reading a review of that and it sounded freaky! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun read Greg. I think you'd like it a lot.
DeleteWhen I think about summer, I imagine cannibals breaking into cabins in the woods, a megalodon attacking a summer boat cruise, a Sasquatch attacking hikers, serial killers attacking campers! I'm not a very fluffy kind of reader!
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of Summer!
DeleteThere's definitely something about dog books that make me associate them with summer!

True but then dogs are perfect for all seasons.
DeleteSummer horror reads? How about JAWS, by Peter Benchley!
ReplyDeleteHere's my TTT list.
I can't believe I forgot JAWS! I so need to rewatch the movie too! I usually watch it at least once a year.
DeleteAbout A Dog looks so sweet! And Campfire looks scary good.
ReplyDeleteI really need to continue with that romance series. It's so cute and I love the author.
DeleteBooks and dogs are basically the best ingredients for a stellar summer.
ReplyDeleteYes they are :)
DeleteRead Campfire and then go camping! 😁
