The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish they handed over the reins to That Artsy Reader Girl who can be found HERE. Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.
I just KNEW there was a reason I put off doing my favorite books post. Now I actually have something to share this week that isn't redundant. These aren't in any order because to be honest, I'll be lucky to narrow it down to ten. I will also provide a link to the review - if I actually did one π
Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant is one of my favorite authors. That being said, I am still a tad surprised how much I loved this science-heavy mermaid book. My review can be found HERE.
You guys knew there would be at least ONE dog book on the list right? Check out my thoughts on this one HERE.
Are you shocked to see a romance novel make the list? I know I am (and there is actually another coming up as well). HERE'S why I loved this one so much.
This was a pretty tough read but you can see what I gave it a 5/5 rating HERE.
I really loved this thriller so check out my REVIEW. Also, now that I'm reminded of it, I wonder when book #2 is coming out?
If you love books that incorporate police interviews, newspaper clipping, maps and texts then I highly recommend this YA thriller. I can't believe I haven't read the sequel yet. Click HERE to get more details in my review.
Hands down this might have just been my favorite horror read of 2020. It was totally slaying the Lost Boys/80's vibes. Come see my REVIEW and then go grab your copy!
Wait a minute - a sci-fi book made it to my list? Who am I? Come see why HERE.
While I STILL haven't forgiven Hendrix for the unnecessary dog death in My Best Friend's Exorcism (RIP Max), I did love the author's take on a suburban vampire. Go read my REVIEW to find out why.
Words can't describe how much I LOVE this book. But I tried to convey it in my REVIEW.
So there you have it. These aren't all of my 5 paw reads but they are pretty much my faves and ones which stand out in my mind. It's a good mix of dogs, horror, sci-fi, romance and moose. Seriously, don't you need a book with a cute moose?
DID ANY OF THESE BOOKS MAKE YOUR FAVORITE LIST?
I've only read two of these - Mira Grant and Grady Hendrix - but your post also totally reminded me I need to get to Goldilocks. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI loved it so much. I know it got mixed reviews but perhaps because I've not read a lot of sci-fi I really enjoyed it.
DeleteSouthern Book Club made my list, too! I just started The Tourist Attraction last night!
ReplyDeleteOh I hope you love it!
DeleteI just got a copy of The Tourist Attraction! Very much looking forward to this one. I've seen it (and the second in the series) on many best of lists!
ReplyDeleteThe second one is ALMOST just as good.
DeleteThe Southern Book Club made my top five of the year, so I'm glad to see it on your list! I've got to read My Dark Vanessa!
ReplyDeleteNot an easy read as I said but definitely worth it.
DeleteYay! I'm glad you put off that post. LOL.
ReplyDeleteMy post.
Yea, would love it even more if it was something I actually PLANNED :)
DeleteI've seen INTO THE DROWNING DEEP on a couple lists today, so it must be good! I read and enjoyed THE SOUTHERN BOOK CLUB'S GUIDE TO SLAYING VAMPIRES and A GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO MURDER this year as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
I really need to read the Good Girls sequel. I rushed out and ordered it from Book Depository after reading the first and then never picked it up.
DeleteBeach Read made my top ten list, too. (Well, it's more like top 15 but who's counting!) And while I'll never forget My Dark Vanessa because it was such a hard book to read, I didn't love it enough to put it on my favorites list. But it was certainly memorable! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm really curious about the author's next release after loving Beach Read so much.
DeleteBeach Read was a great book.
ReplyDeleteIt really did surprise me!
DeleteSome great picks! I have some on reserve from the library.
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart
Hope they come in soon - but not all at once!
DeleteRead three of your favorites this year! YAY! :)
ReplyDeleteInto The Drowning Deep was a trip, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful read.
DeleteI've been putting off Hendrix's but I need to get to it stat!
ReplyDeleteLauren @ Always Me
I've read three of his so you could say he is an auto-read at this point.
DeleteLooks like we enjoyed some of the same books. I loved Mira's mermaid books and wish they'd make them into movies.
ReplyDeleteYou're so right - they'd make great movies!
DeleteI really need to get reading Grady Hendrix next year. All the books sound really great!
ReplyDeleteYes you do because I'm curious what you think about them.
DeleteI really need to check out The Southern Book Club's Guide. It sounds so interesting. Have a happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI think it made a lot of lists this year.
DeleteI need to read When Summer Comes Around asap!! I bought it as soon as you recommended it to me but haven't been able to get to it :( Killer list!!!
ReplyDeleteYes you do! I think you'll love it!
DeleteI have The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires on my 2021 TBR! πππ✨
ReplyDeleteSo excited to hear your thoughts. And hey, Hollow Kingdom has a sequel coming out toward the end of the year so you need to hop on that one :)
DeleteOoh! I'm going to take a look at your Goldilocks review. I've seen it around and since I want to get into sci-fi I think it might be a good one for me to try. You have an eclectic array of books on your top 10 list which is pretty cool. I really need to get out of my comfort zone of fantasy and contemporary.
ReplyDeleteGreat list (and apologies if this is a duplicate comment). So happy to see the Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires on here. I really liked that one.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
