So read on for my thoughts and then hop over to Stormi's at Books, Movies, Reviews! Oh My! to see what she thought as well.
Rogan is a billionaire Prime—the highest rank of magic user—and as unreadable as ever, despite Nevada's "talent." But there's no hiding the sparks between them. Now that the stakes are even higher, both professionally and personally, and their foes are unimaginably powerful, Rogan and Nevada will find that nothing burns like ice . . .
MY THOUGHTS: I have to get this out of the way - these covers suck. I don't know any other way to say it. And if you like them, sorry. But I don't like the posing and this really isn't how I picture the characters at all. Nevada is a blond but in honestly, when reading, I always picture her as a brunette. I have NO idea what's up with that.
So this book picks up after the events of the first one. Nevada is trying to resume a normal life as she can knowing she now possesses magical powers of her own. She ends up using these powers in the beginning to help find an abducted child which opens her up to all kinds of new dangers and scrutiny. She also ends up accepted a case which is more dangerous than her usual ones and it isn't long before she is working right alongside of Conner Rogan again - a man she has vowed to avoid. Nevada is trying to help Cornelius Harrison find out why his wife was murdered. Cornelius has the power to command animals so needless to say, yes, I love him. As the book progresses, we also learn more about Nevada's sisters and brother and the family dynamic in the Baylor home is fantastic. Everyone seems convinced Nevada will end up with Rogan and they do not bother to hide their opinions which makes for some rather amusing scenes.
This book has lots of sexual tension, plenty of action, great banter and NINJA Ferrets - yes you read that right. I did not know I needed Ninja Ferrets in my life but apparently I did. The book wrapped some of the major storylines up at the end but in true Andrews' fashion, some tidbits were thrown in which means I definitely need to read the third book soon.
