Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books. It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
FROM GOODREADS: Eighteen-year-old Jemmie Carmichael has grown up surrounded by magic in the quiet town of Hawthorne, New York. In her world, magic users are called "kindled," and Jemmie would count herself among them if only she could cast a simple spell without completely falling apart. It doesn't help that she was also recently snubbed by Crowe, the dangerous and enigmatic leader of the Black Devils kindled motorcycle gang and the unofficial head of their turf.
When the entire kindled community rolls into Hawthorne for an annual festival, a rumor begins spreading that someone is practicing forbidden magic. Then people start to go missing. With threats closing in from every side, no one can be trusted. Jemmie and Crowe will have to put aside their tumultuous history to find their loved ones, and the only thing that might save them is the very flaw that keeps Jemmie from fully harnessing her magic. For all her years of feeling useless, Jemmie may just be the most powerful kindled of all.
WHY I'M WAITING: I saw this on Tammy's blog last week over at Books, Bones & Buffy and it sounded so great I had to add it (that and about 5 more - that past killed me!) I love the sound of motorcycle gangs and magic. Plus I am discovering birds on covers are about as intriguing to me as tentacles.
What can't you wait for this week???
I like the cover of the book and idea of motorcycle gangs and magic is an interesting combination.
ReplyDeleteI know, it does sound pretty unique. I like the combination as well.
DeleteHa ha, Tammy gets me all the time with books...I must have missed this post cause that looks interesting!
ReplyDeleteShe's just plain evil. You must have missed her last weel's TTT then. I swear I added 6 books to my wishlist. Check it out at your own risk!
DeleteThe cover looks like it belongs on the back of a vest of a biker gang.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely.
DeleteYes! You already know I want to read this:-) I mean how many motorcycle gang fantasy stories have you read??
ReplyDeleteNone which I think is what caught my attention.
DeleteThis does good :) Blog visiting is very bad for the budget!
ReplyDeleteOMG, this is an AWESOME pick!! Just look at that cover! And the plot is just incredibly interesting, too! Such a unique combination -- motorcycle gangs and magic!! Just....WOW. Never heard of anything even remotely like this.
ReplyDeleteI also like the fact that wielders of magic are known as "kindled". This must be a nod to Amazon's e-reader, which I think is great! Of course, Amazon picked that name for their e-reader precisely because books kindle the imagination.
So this is a GREAT pick all around!! I'm adding it to my Goodreads shelves right away!! :)
Thanks for commenting on my CWW post!! Happy Wednesday!! HUGS for you and the boys!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
Glad you are adding it!
Delete"I am discovering birds on covers are about as intriguing to me as tentacles" <-- LOL! This does sound good, and I can honestly say I've never come across a book with a synopsis quite like this one (always a good thing!)
ReplyDeleteI am a real sucker for tentacles...especially purple ones.
DeleteI like the sound of this one. A quiet town, magic and bikers? Yes please! :D
ReplyDeleteMy WOW
I know right?
DeleteSounds like a great book! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jill.
DeleteThis sounds mighty different from anything I normally read but I hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteI think that's why it caught my attention - totally different.
DeleteThis sounds great! Motorcycles and magic...I would totally read this. Great pick!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it.
DeleteI'm loving the sound of this one as well. Funny enough, I went to goodreads to look it up and it seems I had already added it to my wishlist, lol!
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
I've done the same thing too many times to count.
DeleteWow! This cover looks so awesome! I hope you enjoy this book!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my WoW!
Ronyell @ Rabbit Ears Book Blog
Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteYou had me at motorcycles and magic! What a great combination!
ReplyDeleteI don't know that I've read any books with motorcycle gangs.
DeleteOoo I'd not seen that one! Aw the pupper is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna, that's Booker T (the one and only:)
DeleteHaven't seen this one before. Sounds very different. Great pick! Thanks for visiting my Wednesday post on Lisa Loves Literature earlier!
ReplyDeleteI think it does sound interesting and I always look forward to stopping by and seeing what you are waiting on.
DeleteThis is such a great sounding book. It' already on my list too.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
Cool.
DeleteI also saw this book somewhere and I was very interested! Hope you read it soon and let us know what you think :)
ReplyDeleteI hope so too!
DeleteThough I haven't read this, this synopsis kind of reminds me of what I envision Katie McGarry's new 'Thunder Roads' series might be like. Though far as I know, it doesn't include magic. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Barb.
I haven't read a McGarry book but I know a lot of people love her writing.
DeleteThis is the first I've heard of this one, but it sounds really good! There are so few books with motorcycle gangs and I'm curious about the mix of that and magic. On my tbr it goes...
ReplyDeleteTressa @ Wishful Endings
Glad to help add to your TBR.
DeleteI've seen tons of motorcycle gang type books but none that include magic. Sounds good!
