Weekly Reads (06/09/17)

It's been an odd week at The Farm this week.  I say odd because pretty much nothing much is really standing out.  We haven't watched any really good movies (we did watch Fist Fight which was a crude and as rank as I suspect).  Let me change that.  I did watch Jaws II on Sunday afternoon in my continued effort to appease my 2017 summer shark obsession.  It was a fun watch even if it was teenager focused and they annoyed me at times.  Let's just say there were a few scenes where I was rooting for the shark.  Overall, I can't really think of much to talk about.  We did work in the backyard some on Sunday and the Walk Your Paws event was Saturday so the boys spent some nice time in the city park and made a donation to the less fortunate pets.  I'm in a foul mood today as I type this and have no reason to be so who knows what's going on.  Oh well, I'm sure it will pass.

I have been having some blogging fun.  I am participating in #Getsocial17 hosted by Anna at Herding Cats & Burning Soup and have met some wonderful new bloggers.  The Summer Commenting Challenge also started up so I'm really enjoying visiting my partners blog and getting to know Liliyana better.  Also, Stormi and I have a special surprise planned for our "2 Bloggers 1 Book" feature later this month.

I don't know what is on the agenda this weekend but I do plan on doing some reading.  I'm over 70% done with "The Marsh King's Daughter" and really enjoying it although I hit a point last night which may eventually scar me, we'll see.  I then would like to knock out "Chew Vol 3" and "Booked 4 Murder" before the COYER Summer Reading List Challenge starts next weekend.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead of them and plan to have some fun this weekend.  What are you reading and watching.

PS - Pittsburgh Penguins suck!

  1. I love the Jaws films! In Jaws 2 I did get tired of Jackie continually screaming and wailing and I did hope that she would be eaten but no such luck...During my time off I read half of A Clash of Kings and watched the election and terrorism coverage. Bit depressing overall other than the book!

    1. Congrats on getting Clash of Kings done. You are kicking out those books in record time. The news has been really depressing overall. I feel so sorry for all the countries being effected by terrorism. Such senseless violence. Yep, Jackie needed to meet the teeth.

    1. Let's just say there are two dogs...in two different time periods, and I'm worried for both! (and they even have the same name - go figure).

  3. Yay! I'm glad you're having blogging fun. That's great about the park. I've been in a mood this week and trying to fight out of it but man people and things keep testing my nerve. lol

Hope you find some good movies this week!

    1. I feel you. My patience is really wearing thin. I feel like I need to lock myself in my room so I don't end up saying something I regret.

The Marsh King's Daughter definitely sounds interesting, I've seen that one around a bit.

    1. You are really enjoying thrillers this year so you should grab a copy. I'm really liking it and it's one of the better ones I've read lately.

  5. Im not in the best of moods either, seems to be going around. And last night I had a situation with my dogs (similar to what happened to you) and I'm freaking out and depressed. My baby Otis attacked our sweet Ginger and she has to go to the vet today to get checked out. Neither me or my husband was in the room at the time so we have no idea what happened. It's just an awful feeling!

    1. Oh Tammy. My heart goes out to you. I totally know what you are going through and wouldn't wish that pain on anyone. Please keep me posted either here, email or twitter and let me know if you need anything (even if it's just support and good thoughts).

    2. Thanks Barb! I don't think my situation was as bad as yours, but Ginger did have to have stitches on her head (!). It's mostly the emotions of having a dog you love do something like that and not knowing what to do next. As you know...

    3. I hope Ginger is healing nicely and that they are learning to play well together.

  6. I hope your weekend picks up. I haven't seen Jaws II in forever! Walk Your Paws sounds very lovely. What a nice event to join in on. My pup just had her annual shots yesterday so we are taking it easy this weekend.
