Binge Watching - This Is Us (So Late Jumping on the Bandwagon!)

Do you spend hours in front of the TV, maybe days?  Did you ever want to chat with other Binge Watchers or ask people for suggestions or maybe just review the season you watched.  Stormi from Books, Movies, Reviews, Oh My! and Michelle from Because Reading had the perfect idea to create a bi-weekly meme to do just that.

I actually finished watching "This is Us" a month or so ago.  Mr. Barb got stuck late at work one night so I thought to myself "I'll just watch one episode to see what the hype is about."  I knew he wouldn't be interested in it so it was the perfect opportunity to watch one episode and write it off as "not for me."  A weekend later I had watched the entire first season and am now counting the days until the next one starts!

I quickly fell in love with all of the characters and can honestly say, there isn't one that I don't like.  It's even hard for me to pick a favorite. I also really enjoy how the story is told (flashbacks, moving forward, moving back again).  It really is formatted in such a genius fashion.  For someone who grew up an only child, it's so interesting for me to watch all the family dynamics.  And the way it ended last season.  Thank heavens I didn't watch it when it came out because at least I haven't had to wait as long as everyone else.

So if you like dramas, you HAVE to try this show. It has a great cast an I think Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia are awesome in this and even though I thought he would always be Jess in my mind, I think now he will always be Ben.

  1. This one has never been on my radar but I might put it on my list in case, some times I like dramas that are not connected to a murder investigation...lol.

    1. Me too and everyone says every episode makes them cry. I don't want to cry!! Is it true, Barb?

    2. Well, I don't cry easily. And when I do, it's probably because a dog died in the show/movie/book. However, there are some parts which really tugged at my heart. It really does deserve all the hype it gets in my opinion.

    5. Yep, season 1 is safe. Although I can't say the same for the movie "It Comes at Night." We watched it last night and I was HIGHLY disappointed!

  2. I just added this to my QUE a few days ago. Watched a trailer and it looks good. I got my weeks mixed up and did my Kid's Korner post today. LOL I've already marked my calendar for two weeks from now so that won't happen again!

  4. I'm petrified of this show. Do you cry the whole time? I picture me dissolving into a hideous ball of ugly cry when I think about giving it a try. OK, nevermind, I decided to read the other comments to see if this was already addressed. Haha. I don't think I could handle watching this show. :)

    1. It is pretty sad at times and it takes a lot to effect me in that area when it comes to TV. It's so well done though.

  5. I've heard a lot of good things about this show, but idk. I don't think it's for me... all I hear how this has made people cry and I'm over here like, "no thanks?" LOL.

  6. I get so little time to watch TV at the moment but this week I've been too tired to read so I'm catching up with some military docs and the Great British Bake Off!

  8. I absolutely LOVED part I of S1. Even reviewed it on my blog. However, not sure why I never felt like watching it again! Maybe now that colder days are coming!
