Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books. It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
FROM GOODREADS: State Road 177 runs along the Suwannee River, between Fargo, Georgia, and the Okefenokee Swamp. Drive that route from east to west, and you’ll cross six bridges. Take it from west to east, and you might find seven.
But you’d better hope not.
Titus and Davina Bell leave their hotel in Fargo for a second honeymoon canoeing the Okefenokee Swamp. But shortly before they reach their destination, they draw up to a halt at the edge of a rickety bridge with old stone pilings, with room for only one car . . .
When, much later, a tow-truck arrives, the driver finds Titus lying in the middle of the road, but Davina is nowhere to be found.
WHY I CAN'T WAIT: Because it's Cherie Priest and it seems like I've been waiting forever for a new book from her. Also I want to know where Davina went.
WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK???
I hope this one lives up to all your expectations. That cover is deliciously creepy.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Wonder what's at the end of that bridge?
DeleteI loved Priest's I Am Princess X. She's a good author. And I can see why you want to read this book. :)
ReplyDeleteHave you read The Family Plot? I don't think it got much hype but I really really loved it.
DeleteOh yes - I love Cherie Priest so I'll add this to the list.

Me too!
DeleteI saw the title, and immediately I began to wonder if this was a fairytale retelling of Three Billy Goats Gruff -- except with a horror twist. I don't know why my mind went there! But you're right, what happened to Davina!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be cool. I loved that fairy tale!
DeleteThis one does sound quite interesting. I'll be checking out some reviews before I decide for sure!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it turns out to be something that you'll like.

ReplyDeleteYou should give her a try. I loved Maplecroft and The Family Plot too.
