TTT - Longest Books I've Ever Read

The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish they  handed over the reins to ThatArtsyReaderGirl who can be found HERE.  Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week we are sharing the longest books we've ever read which I feel like in my case, could also be titled "Stephen King Books I've Read."  Either way, let's see what made the list.

1074 pages - I knew this would be the highest.  Still haven't forgiven King for the ending though.

974 pages - this was a collection of 4 books so it makes sense.

930 pages - King count up to 2.

870 pages - Thank heavens for Goodreads.  I forgot all about this series having long books.

849 pages - Yep, another King.

759 pages - Harry is giving Stephen a run for his money.

756 pages - Yep, I've read them.

734 pages - Harry and Stephen are tied.

688 pages - I really liked this one once I gave it a chance.

652 pages

So there you have it.  The Harry Potter books and the King ones were tied with 4 each in the top 10.  Just an FYI though, according to Goodreads #11 would have been another King - The Talisman.

Did any of these make your list???

  1. As soon as I saw this week's topic I KNEW your list was going to be dominated by Stephen King! Most of my list was Stephenie Meyer...

  2. For me it was Stephen King, George RR Martin, political biographies, fiction and NF history that dominated!

  3. I always forget how long the harry potter books were, but honestly, I never felt their length reading them. It was only after that I realised how long they were. And it's only with that series that i can say that.

    1. I read IT so long ago I don't even think it's on my Goodreads lists. I really want to do a reread though.

  10. HARRY Potter and Breaking Dawn made mine! I had to limit it to one book in a series of half the HP books would be there lol.

    1. Well, you can see quite a few made mine. Maybe I should have limited it to but I got caught up in the Potter King race.

  11. These Stephen King novels are so intimidating, but I'd like to pick up at least one long book by him.

    1. You gotta give him a try. If you want, try to get your hands on Gwendy's Button Box. It's a novella so it's not long at all and it's really good.

  12. I can't believe I forgot Harry Potter and I don't think I'd realised Breaking Dawn was so long.

    1. Back then Breaking Dawn didn't seem so long. If I were to reread it now, it would take forever.

    1. Read it and get back to me. It was such a good book, and such a weak ending.

  14. My list has a lot of Stephen King and Harry Potter, too. Why can’t Stephen King write reasonable-length books?

Aj @ Read All The Things!

    1. I know. The Outsider wasn't as long as a lot of them - or maybe I'm just used to it.

  15. Lol, King is on a lot of lists! For some reason, Talisman was on my list as really long according to Goodreads, but maybe I had a weird edition picked?

    1. I read The Talisman YEARS ago and didn't love it, but its sequel, The Black House, was really good.

  16. Under the Dome made my list, too, and if I hadn't repeated authors, I'm sure some of these others would have made my list, too.

  17. WOW, Barb!! Those are some pretty loooong books!! Good for you!! :)

From your list, I've read the following: "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire", "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix", and "Breaking Dawn". I did start "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince", but didn't finish it because of a very sad event that takes place in that book. It made me bawl like a baby. I'm thinking though, that I should be brave and go back to finish! Lol.

Thanks for sharing!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE PUPS!! "ARF, ARF" TO THEM, TOO!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
