TTT - Books On My Fall TBR

The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish they  handed over the reins to ThatArtsyReaderGirl who can be found HERE.  Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week's topic is books on my Fall TBR.  I basically do TBR's every month and I don't want to be redundant.  I am really trying to read some older books on my shelves (and Kindle) so I'm going to share with you 5 older titles I'd like to work in this fall (and technically I'm looking at October, November and December so don't be shocked if you see some Christmas books here) as well as 5 newer ones I'm definitely going to try to knock off.

NEWER

The Beautiful Ones - Prince.  Are you tired of seeing this one here already?  Sorry, not sorry!

The Beautiful - Renee Ahdieh.  So I have a hold placed on this one on Overdrive and it looks like it will come in pretty soon after release.  I've seen mixed reviews and I'm nervous but vampires and New Orleans mean I have to give it a chance.

The Soul Collector - Laura Daleo.  Laura was kind enough to think of me and send this my way so I really want to make time for her new book.

White Elephant - Trish Harnetiaux.  I technically haven't even hauled this one yet but a murderous Christmas party set in a snowstorm.  Sounds like a great combo to me1

Slash - Hunter Shea.  If you visit here frequently, you know I don't have to say anything more.

OLDER

Pit & Miss Murder - Renee George.  I need to read it because #5 comes out tomorrow - yep, tomorrow!

The Stand - Stephen King.  Stormi and I are tackling this one together.  It's a reread for her but my first time.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - JK Rowling.  I want to do my very first reread of this first book from my beautiful illustrated edition this coming holiday season.

Abandoned - W. Michael Gear.  I must start catching up on this series!

Magic Shifts - Ilona Andrews.  Of course I can't forget the next Kate Daniels.  And I think this has to be one of my favorite series covers yet.

So what books made your list this week???

  2. Next year will be about catching up on older series and books that have been on the TBR for many years! I hope to get a few done before the year ends if everything goes ok but the bulk will be next year.

I still have a few Shea to get to including Slash! I hope you love The Stand as much as I did! I do intend to read the first in that Gear series at some point as I want to branch out in my SF reads. And yes to reading those gorgeous Harry Potter illustrated books as a reread!

    1. Stormi and I have already picked a series read for next year. It really has helped me catch up some. Also, we are starting another project which should help me read from my shelves as well. Exciting times!

  4. I hope you guys enjoy The Stand! It's weird but I see lots of negative reviews for it these days, from new readers who are maybe expecting something else. I loved it way back when but I often wonder what I'd think of it now.

    1. I think I'll enjoy it. With King books I find that while I don't always like his endings, I do like the trips to get to them.

  5. The Stand is one of my favorite King books. It’s also one of the longest books I’ve ever finished. I hope you enjoy all these!

  7. Good choices, Barb! I included a Christmas book in my list, too. I want to take a look at White Elephant since I haven't heard of it. I hope we both manage to read at least some of the books on my list...lol.

    1. I blame Stormi so if you decide to request an arc, I guess you can blame both of us!

  8. I have a copy of The Beautiful that I need to get started on. I hope that is a good one. I love all things Ilona Andrews so I am sure you are going to enjoy Magic Shifts. I do want to read the Gear series, and I need to catch up on King. I will get to Harry Potter at some point. Good luck with your reading list!

    1. I always associate it with Christmas time. Maybe because you can catch the movies on multiple channels during the holidays.

  11. The Beautiful sounds really good, and I haven't read a vampire story in ages. Plus it's everywhere and has that awesome cover. :)

  13. Read that Prince book already! LOL. I forgot about WHITE ELEPHANT. I was excited to read it when it came out, but it totally slipped my mind until I read your list. Thanks for the reminder.

    Happy TTT!

  14. Oh wow, the cover on The Soul Collector freaked me the hell out and at the same time, I can't get it out of my head. Looking forward to your review!

  15. I love that photo of Prince. 💜

Yay for re-reading Sorcerer's Stone! The illustrated editions are so much fun. I like Jim Kay's version of the Sorting Hat better than the movie hat. I'll be starting Chamber of Secrets next month. It's my least favorite of the series. It's the only one of them I can say I actually don't care for. Ha ha. ⚡

    1. I love early Prince. You can see the youth in him in a lot of his photos. They are releasing some new music from him in November and I just picked up his Originals CD. It was good but the music actually overpowers the vocals in a lot of the songs.

  16. I've never read the Stand - I should try and make the effort to do so. Hope your buddy read works out well.
