What's Happening (03-07-21) An Unplanned Absence

So once again I'm going to try to make this a regular feature.  I got really bad about updating at the end of 2020.  Hopefully I'll get better at checking in regularly.  As always, I'm linking up with Stacking the Shelves at  Tynga's Reviews and The Sunday Post at The Caffeinated Reviewer.

So I didn't really plan to take a week off but I can say life kind of got the best of me.  I started my new job on Monday which meant three days traveling for onboarding at the state capitol.  At least the weather was nice but man, am I tired of signing my name and reading policies and procedures.

Secondly, as some may have seen in Instagram, Cassius and I spent all Sunday morning at the ER vet.  He hadn't eaten in two days and was in distress.  Turns out he had pancreatitis.  We caught it early but it was still extremely stressful, especially since I was traveling back and forth for three days.  Mr. Barb was able to leave work and come check on him at lunch and I'm thrilled to say he's doing so much better.  These pups are gonna be the death of me yet!

Also, Gpa is having a down week again.  It started yesterday and while not as bad as some, it's still been trying.  Stupid Uncle is still in town so he was able to deal with some of it, as he needs to.

I managed to watch all of the new Punky Brewster series on Peacock and I loved it so much.  I had a lot of fun with Punky in the 80s and this series was better and it was fun to see some familiar faces. I am also current on the new series of Riverdale and I'm still not a fan.

I have been reading some really good books lately and here is what's on tap for the next week or so.

I also grabbed some good books from the library!

And finally, my dear friend Stormi has been really under the weather this past week and I just want her to know we all hope she gets well soon!

Have a great week guys and look for an exciting review tomorrow!

I loved watching Punky Brewster with my little sister in the '80s. I wonder if she knows there is a reboot? I'll have to ask her. πŸ“Ί

  6. Poor Cassius, I'm glad he's feeling better. Pancreatitis is definitely unpleasant for them, my dog had it too a couple years back, had us frightened out of our minds.

And I see Later in your stack! I'm hoping to check it out later this month.

  7. Oh poor Cass! I'm not on Instagram so I had no idea that anything was wrong. Give the brave boy a big hug and I'm so glad you caught it early. I'm sorry your Gpa is having a down week. It never rains but it pours as they say.

    1. Cass always appreciates hugs from Auntie Chuckles. And he's doing a lot better now. Yes, I totally subscribe to the when it rains it pours thinking.
