Farm News - May 25, 2025

It's been about three weeks since my last life update and a lot has happened.  I went to my work retreat.  It was fine and the usual cluster when we get together.  Upper management is historically horrible about making decisions - great at coming up with ideas, poor on follow through.  I survived until the next one in October.  Apollo hated for me to be gone overnight but Zekey enjoyed Daddy time tremendously.

Finally got a deal done with Stupid Uncle on my grandfather's property.  It finalized on Thursday this past week and we celebrated by buying a second car.  We had been looking for a while and didn't want a new car or a new car payment, so we stumbled on a good used vehicle in good shape with one previous owner, an older couple, and pick it up from the dealer on Tuesday.  I will introduce "Pops" and explain his nickname at the next update.  He is a Silver Nissan Rogue Sport and I love him.

I've been in a bit of a reading slump this month.  I've read some good books, just not as much as I wanted to get done.  I'm going to have to kick it in gear in June.  I'm gonna share a few arcs I received the past few weeks but will do a bigger haul soon.  I've also bought several books I want to share but I'm in a time crunch to get this posted this week.

We Are All Guilty Here: Karin Slaughter
How to Fake a Haunting: Christa Carmen
Howl: Lindy Ryan and Stephanie M. Wytovich
The Ghostwriter: Julie Clark

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and those with a 3-day one, like me, make the most of it.  Thanks for visiting Booker T's Farm!

  1. Congrats on the new car! And of course finalizing the deal on the house, that must be a relief. I also got How to Fake a Haunting. May hasn't been a great reading month for me either, maybe because I tried to read too much fantasy, lol.

  2. Here's hoping that, with work retreat, property deal and car purchase in your rearview, you can go back to enjoy reading and reviewing to the fullest! So your car is a "he"? LOL. Looking forward to that story!

  4. ooo you got the Karin Slaughter book. I requested it but haven't gotten it yet. My car, now 8 yeats old, was also purchased used when it was only 6 months old for about half of what it was new. It's doing fine and I don't drive so much that I need more car. Enjoy Pops.
