Stacking the Shelves (6)

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!  The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.  This week I am mainly focusing on review copies as well as hard copies from a visit to the local used bookstore.  No actual pics or much detail as my area has been in the middle of a huge snowstorm with limited electric and lots and lots of white stuff.

First of all, from Netgalley for review (covers will take you to goodreads descriptions):

Ice Twins Howl at the Moon Tied
Sleepy Hollow No One Like You Prison of Hope

I received all 6 of these from netgalley this week.  I am not a huge fan of contemporary, but I loved the dog on No One Like You.  I have been wanting to read Ice Twins for some time as it sounds like a great thriller/horror without a huge supernatural element.  Howl at the Moon looks like a cute middle grade.

I recently visited the used bookstore in my area and while I sometimes think the prices are a tad high, the owner is very nice and I like to support local businesses. I found these, 2 of which I was looking for, and 3 of which screamed "Take me home!"

The Fall (The Strain Trilogy #2) & The Night Eternal (The Strain Trilogy #3): Guillermo del Toro - I went in hoping to find these and now my collection is complete.  I recently became obsessed with this series - no sparkling vampires here folks!

Vespers: Jeff Rovin - Caught my attention and may be a good horror read.  It has a 3.42 rating on Goodreads but I don't always put a lot of attention into ratings.

Timbuktu: Paul Auster - Look at that dog - how could I resist?

What did you get this week and have you read any of these?  Leave me your link so I can check out your haul.

  1. I really want to watch the TV series of The Strain but at the moment getting the tbr down is a full time job and I don't have time for anything but blogging and reading!

    1. The Husband and I started watching it about a month ago and marathoned through it in about 3 days. It is done really well and I can't wait for the new season to start.

  2. Nice haul! I have a similar problem...I can't resist a book with a cat on the cover, especially if it looks like one of my cats! All your NetGalley titles are new to me. I haven't read any Guillermo del Toro, but I've heard those books are fantastic. I hope you enjoy them all! Thanks for stopping by Michelle's Minions!

    1. Glad to hear I am not the only one with an animal-on-the-cover issue. I have checked out you blog for months and love it. It's great for finding new titles (or bad, I guess it depends on how you look at it). Thanks for visiting.
