November TBR(P) - I Promise, I Didn't Do the Dog Thing Intentionally!

Well, once again it's time to plan some new reads.  I did OK last month, but some of what I read really wasn't on the TBR.  That's OK though because I make these more as a guideline and a reminder of what ARCs I want to read, and not as something I always want to strictly follow.  I have picked 12 books and since I have vacation the week of Thanksgiving, maybe I will get to more than usual (keeping my fingers crossed).

I really didn't intentionally plan so many covers with dogs on them, that's just how it worked out. What are your plans for November???

  1. Diabolique is on my ARC pile too. This month I plan to finish up requested reviews so that I can work on my ARC pile. Happy reading ;-)

  2. I'm so excited to be approved for Five Stories High, and I have you to thank for giving me the heads up that it was on NetGalley because I had totally missed it! This month I am also hoping to read The Secret Life of Souls.

  4. I have the Diabolic to read too. Probably not this month, but eventually! I don't plan my reading so much anymore... So we'll see what I read. I have been on an In Death kick so probably a few of those :) Happy reading!

  5. I got a copy of Diabolique at Comic Con and I've been hearing really good thing, so I hope I can read it too. I'll be reading The Secret Lives of Souls very soon! It's short so maybe I'll even squeeze it in this weekend:-)

  7. Haha I love that you just accidentally ended up with a whole bunch of dog covers. I looked up the Jekyll Revelation when I saw it on NG. It sounds interesting. I'll be curious your thoughts if you review it!

  8. I'm motoring through my ebooks for November...I picked 15 to read and so far I've finished 3 abandoned 6! I'm pretty pleased and I'm not even a week into my challenge! Still have the entire Iron Druid series to catch up on, plus a couple of other paperbacks but it's a good start. Not sure I totally believe you about the dog covers!

  9. WOW!! What a collection! Well, no problem about all the dog covers, since we all know you're partial to those creatures. That would be like me posting a whole bunch of horse covers! Lol.

The first of these that caught my eye was "The Diabolic". I happened to be at Barnes & Noble last night (it's now well past midnight here in Miami) and saw this book on display there. I think there must have been like 10+ copies on the display shelves. I didn't much like the title, but I've already checked it out on Goodreads, and I like the synopsis, so I've added it to my shelves there.

I've just checked out "In the Blue Hour", and it sure sounds TERRIFIC!! As you know by now, I LOVE paranormal reads!! I've just added this one to my GR shelves!

"Bound By Blood" would normally interest me, as I do enjoy reading about vampires, but, paradoxically, I DETEST that cover! Heck, do they HAVE to make it so OBVIOUS?! I guess I'll have to wait for another cover, sigh....crossing my fingers here....

I would have been interested in "Moon Chosen", too, but I'm holding a grudge against P.C. Cast. A couple of years ago, I read "Marked", the first novel in the House of Night series, which she co-authored with her daughter, Kristin. In that book, they characterized ALL Christian men as "beady-eyed pedophiles". You can check out my review of the book on my blog. Well, that was IT for me. I refused to read the rest of the series, and will not read ANYTHING written by either mother or daughter. It's too bad, too, because they're both very talented. But prejudice is prejudice, whether politically "incorrect" or not.

Stepping off my soapbox now, lol.

I do need more time to check out the rest of the books. To be honest, I'm not a dog person, so I doubt I'll be interested in the books with dog covers, but then, you never know! "Lone Wolf" does look interesting! I do like wolves, and, after all, they ARE related to dogs. Jacob Black is responsible for my attraction to wolves! Lol.

Thanks for sharing all of these FAB books!! <3 :)
