TTT - 5 Awesome Characters to Lead a Supernatural Army

This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE.  Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week's topic is leaders and then each poster can chose what's being led.  I wanted to stay away from political topics so I decided to focus on characters who would be awesome at leading supernatural armies for various reasons.  I had to put some thoughts into this one but I hope you enjoy what I out together.

Oberon from Kevin Hearne's Iron Druid Chronicles.  "But Barb, you haven't even started this series yet" you might be saying.  You are quite right but I do follow Oberon on Twitter and also read his newsletter and  I know he has lots of experience dealing with various creatures and individuals plus he would make sure they had plenty to eat.

Mercy Thompson (art by Dan Dos Santos).  Mercy is bad ass.  Being a shifter, she would be able to see both the human and animal side of things so I think she would gain a strong following from both sides.  Plus she's a mechanic, which I love!  Not only could she lead, but she could assist with any vehicular issues.

Jenks from Kim Harrison's Hollows series.  Jenks is a pixie but he's been around for years. He's very knowledgeable of things and he has tons of kids so he knows how to convince beings to do things.  Jenks is also very loyal which I think is necessary for a good leader.

Lying Cat from the Saga series.  What better than a leader who automatically know someone is lying.  Plus he's encountered all kinds of different beings in the Saga universe so I don't think anything would shock him.

Harley Quinn - now hear me out.  In the comic series, Harley has a strong love of animals which I think would come in handy when dealing with supernatural beings.  Plus, she has ran into some pretty tough and often misunderstood characters so I think she would be a good listener.  Yea, she's a tad crazy, but aren't most leaders?

So there you have my top 5.  I'm really excited to see everyone's lists this week.

    1. Yep, critters are necessary. It's humans that are questionable.

  4. I love that pic of Mercy Thompson! Most images I see of her don't always agree with my inner pic, but that one- nice! And Harley Quinn- yeah she's be good to go into battle with! :)

LOVE Lying Cat. I want one. And Oberon as well.

    1. That art is done by the same author that does the covers so I feel he has a really good take on her.

  5. You were probably smart to stay away from politics. I plowed right into politics with my list. I think you picked some great leaders. (And some good dogs.)

    1. It's way too easy to get too involved with politics these days. I loved your list though.

  6. I love Oberon, Mercy and Jenks! I'm sad I never got to read the whole Hollows series but I DNFed over the repetitive Ivy wants to attack Rachel again plot!

    1. It's been a while since I read them and I still need to read the last three. However, I think the Ivy/Rachel stuff slacks off after a while. It is a rather annoying part of the series though.
