Stacking the Shelves (162)/Sunday Post

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews. And it now has a new co-host where individuals can link up as well - Marlene from Reading Reality.  Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page.  I'm also now linking up with the Sunday Post which is hosted by Kimberly@Caffeinated Book Reviewer

So it's been another fairly big book week.  I actually got a few used books in the mail from Thriftbooks but since I sent a gift to a friend, I can't show them yet because she might guess what I sent her and we can't have that!  So let's start off by showing you what I got for review.

"When Animals Attack" sort of reminds me of last year's "Paperbacks from Hell" but for movies so I'm really excited to get started on it.  I've been wanting to read "Witchmark" since I first saw it and although Tor.com sent me an copy, I  have huge problems with their download system so I requested it on Netgalley and am glad I was finally approved.  I think "Heroine's Journey" sounded good,  but alas, it's #3 in a series so I gotta get my hands on the first two.  Finally "The Moor" was too good to pass up being horror and everything.

I also had to drop some books off at the library, which of course means new books. The sad thing is that as soon as I left, last night I got an email that some requests were in  #MurphysLibraryLaws.

I really couldn't resist either one and have heard some good things about "Reign of the Fallen."

What did you add to your collection this week????

  1. Ohh, I want to read Reign of the Fallen! As for me this week, a friend sent me a copy of Emergency Contact! I cannot wait to dive into that one. I hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. I love the cover of Reign of the Fallen and may save it for my science fiction challenge (as you can do fantasy too).

  2. Hmm The Moor looks interesting, and wasn't there a show once called when Animals Attack? Notrhing to do with the book I know, but that title sounds so familiar. I remember when the Discovery Channel or maybe it was animal Planet used to have shows like that, I remember one called Fangs that always cracked me up. :) Or "See Why We Call Them Animals!" Ha!

    Happy reading!

  3. Maybe you'll have better luck with the Heroine Complex series, I didn't like the first book at all so I am not planning on continuing. It's hard to believe it's book 3 already though, time sure flies! And I have to say, this series does have some excellent covers.

  5. I still need to read Reign of the Fallen. The Moor looks really good as well. It seems like all of my library requests tend to come in at the same time. This week I had movies come in...and no power to watch a movie with. That is just the way it goes.

  6. So typical that you get the call about the books after you leave the library! I still wish we had decent libraries in my area-they used to be so good before they started charging for everything! Now it's yearly fees for book and music tickets, fines, payment for requests!

  8. You got a great haul and I am really curious about The Moor (does it's cover remind you of a book we didn't enjoy? Hope that doesn't mean anything...lol)

Have a great week and happy reading!
