MY THOUGHTS:
As
I was reading this book, my first thought was "Why?" However, I wanted
to finish the ENTIRE series, and it does fall into my September is for
Sequels challenge, so that was quickly answered. My next question
though was not as easily resolved - "Who are most of these people?"
Maybe Harris had a need to have closure in her head, or maybe she just
wanted to capitalize on another book, and hey, it's her prerogative, but
I could have went the rest of my life without knowing what happened to
90% of the people in this book - maybe even 95%. I really still don't
know, and don't care, who most of them were.
That being said,
this was a quick read and enough people had warned me about it that I
just grabbed it from my library's Overdrive system. I pretty much
finished it an a half an hour so it wasn't a big time waste. I am glad
to know what happened to Sookie, Sam, Bill and Pam, but unless you are a
die-hard fan, I can't see much other use for this book. Now, on to the
book of short stories and I can put Sookie to rest forever.
RATING: 2 Paws
I have now completed 3 sequels this month and only need to finish one more to complete my challenge -
GO ME!!!!
I loved this series, but towards the end not so much.
ReplyDeleteI think an epilogue covering what happened to the handful of characters who matter would have been enough instead of the poor excuse for a book that After Dead is. I only read it to complete the series but I'm at least glad I never bought it!
