Top 10 Tuesday - Books I HAD to buy...but are STILL sitting in my TBR bookshelf!

This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE.  Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.  This week is a free choice, and since I haven't been participating in this meme too long, I looked at some of the older choices and picked one I missed out on.  So this week I am focusing on books I HAD to buy, but basically still haven't read.

I remember rushing out on my lunch hour the day this was released and getting caught in a HUGE thunderstorm...and nope, still haven't read it.

So of course, I had to buy this one as well.  At least I waited a week or so and there was no storm involved in the purchase.

Let's keep it in the family, but at least I pre ordered this one so at least no travel was involved.

Even though it's been out forever, last year I just HAD to have this so I bought it at a local, expensive bookstore, and now look at it from time to time.

Loved the cover and had to own it.  I have heard mixed reviews and maybe someday I will decide for myself.

Bought this on a whim when it was released so the hardcover has been sitting on my shelf for at least 4 years now.

I LOVE W. Bruce Cameron but I know this book will make me cry.

Everyone has been raving about this series so I just had to order the first one last year, but nope, never even started.

In my defense, this has only been out a month or so, but I just know it will be a while before I get to it.

So have you seen this giant brick of a book?  At least it looks nice on my shelf (sitting right beside the still unread compendium #2).

Have you read any of these and should I dust any off and give them a chance anytime soon?  Leave me a comment and let me know.  Thanks for visiting!

  2. This topic is actually me in a nutshell. I always do that 'Oh, I NEED that book today' and then it's been a year and I still haven't read it...which is exactly what happened with Soulless for me too.

  4. This happens to me all the time. Bright side is when you do decide it's time to read those books you already have them!

  5. Great topic! I really love Soulless (and the whole series), so I'd say move that one up on your priority list! I also picked up Mr. Mercedes when it came out, never ended up reading it, and eventually gave it away... but now a friend insists I read it after all and just loaned me her copy!

  7. NOS4A2 was really good, so I would suggest reading it. I haven't read the first two from Stephen King yet either, though I want to. A Dog's Purpose WILL make you cry, but it is a good book. I've vowed since that book though, to not read anymore books about dogs, because I just can't take it. It was really good though, if you're not afraid of being heartbroken. I have Soulless and still haven't read it either. This just happens to all of us. Too many books and not enough time. Thanks for visiting Bookworm Book Reviews! Happy reading!

    1. They are extremely expensive. I think my husband bought these compendiums for me for Christmas and they were almost 30.00 each...but they are HUGE. I think each one has 48 comic issues in it.

  9. Oooh, Night Circus is in my Favourites list!!!! Very unique.
Mr. Mercedes is not bad... but maybe a tad overrated?
    So, Night Circus.

  10. I bought a copy of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ages ago, and I still haven't read it yet either >.< The most I've done with it was use the free stickers that came with it on my notebook, oops.
