Top 10 Tuesday - Bookish Things I Want to Quit

This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE.  Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading. This week's topic is "10 Bookish Things I Want to Quit" and I have struggled to really come up with something.  So although it might be a tad of a twist, I have decided to stop reading books just because everyone else is reading them and these 10 books are the ones I see the most.  That is DEFINITELY not to say that I won't read them eventually, I just like to read over-hyped books once the hype dies down. So here it goes!

Throne of Glass Outlander Carry One
Infinite Sea Everything Everything
Walk on Earth Dumplin' Me Before You
The Red Queen The Wrath and the Dawn

Now as I mentioned, I will probably at least read Throne of Glass, Outlander, Walk the Earth and Red Queen eventually.  I know for certain that I will never read The Infinite Sea because I strongly disliked The 5th Wave. I do think the movie might be worth a watch at some point, but I am in no hurry.  Don't think I will ever read Everything Everything either, although I know people love it.

What are you quitting this week?  Leave me a comment so I can check out your TTT.

  1. Whenever I read over-hyped books at the time of release, I'm always disappointed, so I agree with you on this topic. I'm probably going to wait to read The Infinite Sea until after the third book is out - then I can just finish the series all in one go :)

  2. I am always leery of over-hyped books, but I listened to Throne of Glass and liked it and thought Red Queen was okay and I have Outlander but it's so large that it's a bit daunting so I haven't tried it...lol. (Though I liked what I got to see of the series on TV) The others on your list I will probably never read.

Books I quit recently are Trollhunters and 13 Days of Midnight both bored me and I just never finished them.

  3. I usually wait on the over-hyped books as well. I finally broke down and read Me Before You a few weeks ago. I know many folks who just LOVE that book, but I dunno. It was fine. Nice writing. I liked the characters, but it just wasn't my thing. I mean - it was good, but I didn't LOVE it like most folks I know. And I certainly didn't cry, although I know folks who said they sobbed reading it. Different strokes for different folks!
