I don't read a lot of science fiction so this was all pretty new to me.
I certainly don't read a lot of children's novels, and this one was a children's graphic novel, but Apocalypse Bow Wow was great!
Romance is definitely not something I read often. This one was super cute and look at that dog!
I haven't read a lot of historical fiction and it has to be something really special to catch my eye, but The Ripper's Wife was extremely enjoyable.
The same thing can be said for this one!
I'm not big on photography books but this one centered on dogs, so I couldn't resist.
I certainly don't read a lot of young adult contemporary. This was my first, and so far only, Dessen book.
This was my first middle grade graphic novel.
OK. So basically I can only come up with 8. Guess I should branch out more but hey, I like what I like. What made your list?
I don't read much middle grade or children's books either, Barb, but sometimes I do pick one up and am pretty enchanted.

Kudos for branching out, Barb! I had my kids make a list of books they wanted me to read this year in order to branch out. (they're all in high school) I think The Ripper's Wife and The Secrets of Lizzie Borden both look good. And I'm a fan of Sarah Dessen's - my favorite is Just Listen. And I'm seriously going to see if my library has Saga. ;)
ReplyDeleteI tend to only read the Tudor period for historical fiction but the odd thing like The Ripper's Wife or Lizzie Borden do catch the interest sometimes. I do plan to get to these at some point.
ReplyDeleteI love that by sometime stepping out of my comfort zone, I am able to find books that I end up loving. I am a sucker for a book with a dog on the cover and the Lizzie Borden book sounds great. Great post!
