The future is looking bright for Sidney Moore as she as she gets ready to leave the small island of Benediction behind for one of Boston’s top veterinary schools. Only a few small bumps in the road to navigate before she can go—her father’s recovery from a debilitating stroke, and her own guilt for ending her relationship with her high school sweetheart. But she’s always been strong willed, and she’s not about to let anything stop her from achieving her goals.
Now a storm is bearing down on Benediction, a hurricane that will bring devastating winds and rain, rising tides...and something else. Something deadly; something that will transform all the things that creep, crawl, and flutter into instruments of terror and death.
The future is looking bright for Sidney Moore…if only she can survive the storm.
WHY I'M WAITING: I recently read "The Demonist" by this author and absolutely loved it. Now I am on a mission to devour more of his work and since this is a new one coming out, I might as well start there.
What are you waiting for this week?
I love the cover for this book! And I will be adding it to wishlist as it sounds really good!
ReplyDeleteThis looks interesting and I am like you, I would like to try something else from this author after listening to 'The Demonists'. :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this book on Netgalley (?) and I was immediately drawn to the cover. Also, I think it would be an 18 year old's worst nightmare to be on the way to college when something prevents you from going.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds really interesting. I've never read this author and I'll have to check them out. Thanks for sharing and thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteSounds like an interesting book. Thanks so much for spotlighting it today!
ReplyDeleteHappy Reading! Dani @ Paulette’s Papers
I don't think I've seen this book before! Great cover. I hope you enjoy this book when you get to read it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Have a lovely week. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
This sounds right up my alley! I need to read The Demonist as well.
ReplyDeleteOhh great pick Barb! I also haven't heard about this book until now, but it most definitely looks and sounds absolutely amazing and fantastic! Thank you for stopping by my WOW.
ReplyDeleteOh, what a GREAT cover, Barb!! It makes me think of the Hitchcock movie, "The Birds"!
ReplyDeleteI really wouldn't go for this type of book usually, but there's something about this one that's drawing me in. It could be the whole hurricane angle. I live in South Florida, so reading about hurricanes does fascinate me, even though I hate them in reality! Lol. (Mercifully, we haven't had any hurricanes -- not even weak ones -- for several years now, and I hope it stays that way!)
So I think I might give this one a try. Never heard of it before!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my own WOW!! :)
It's always great discovering a new author you love and having more books from them to devour or look forward too!
