Waiting on Wednesday (69)

"Waiting on" Wednesday" is weekly meme hosted over at Breaking the Spine which spotlights upcoming anticipated releases.

November 29, 2016

In her first work of nonfiction, the beloved star of Gilmore Girls and Parenthood recounts her experiences on Gilmore Girls—the first and second time—and shares stories about life, love, and working in Hollywood. This collection of essays is written in the intimate, hilarious, and down-to earth voice that made her novel, Someday Someday Maybe, a New York Times bestseller.

“This book contains some stories from my life: the awkward growing up years, the confusing dating years, the fulfilling working years, and what it was like to be asked to play one of my favorite characters again. You probably think I’m talking about my incredible achievement as Dolly in Hello, Dolly! as a Langley High School junior, a performance my dad called “you’re so much taller than the other kids.” But no! I’m talking about Lorelai Gilmore, who, back in 2008, I wasn’t sure I’d ever see again. Also included: tales of living on a houseboat, meeting guys at awards shows, and that time I was asked to be a butt model. A hint: all three made me seasick.”—Lauren Graham

WHY I'M WAITING: Because it's Lauren Graham and because I love the Gilmore Girls and can't wait to hear more about her time on the show.

What are you waiting for this week?

  1. OMG this is amazing! As I only just last week finished watching Gilmore Girls for the first time (I watched all 7 seasons in about 1.5 months) and I fell in love! This is just amazing and will help with my hang over for sure! I even did a review of it just the other day.

  2. Oh cool! I hadn't even heard of this. Thanks for bring it to my attention (even though it's making my book pile bigger!)

  3. Cute! I didn't know she was coming out with a book, but it coincides perfectly with the return of Gilmore Girls!

  4. This looks like a fun memoir, I've never seen Gilmore Girls but i know a lot of people love it and it's coming back to Netflix seems very popular. It sounds like a fun series to try.

  5. Gilmore Girls! That sure brings back memories. Still not sure I'll be watching it when it comes back though, but this collection has the potential to be pretty interesting.
