FROM GOODREADS:
In the latest Library Lover’s Mystery from the New York Times bestselling author of A Likely Story, a decades overdue book puts library director Lindsey Norris hot on the trail of a cold case...
When the Briar Creek Public Library holds its first overdue book amnesty day—no fines for late returns—the volume of incoming materials is more than Lindsey and her staff can handle. In a bind, Lindsey drafts the crafternoon ladies to help check in and sort the stacks of books.
But one tardy tome catches her attention—a copy of J. D. Salinger’s The Catcher in the Rye, twenty years past due. When Lindsey looks up the borrower, she’s shocked to discover it was a murdered school teacher named Candice Whitley, whose killer was never found.
Candice checked out the novel on the day she was murdered. Now Lindsey wonders if it could provide a clue to the decades-old cold case. No one noticed who brought the book back in, but could it be Candice’s killer? Lindsey is determined to catch the culprit one way or another, because justice for Candice Whitley is long overdue...

WHY I'M WAITING: This is one of the few cozy mysteries that I manage to keep current with and I'm thrilled the next installment is coming out soon. I love this small town and really need to visit it again.
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR THIS WEEK???
This is a series I have wanted to try but there are a lot already out but it sounds so good!!! :)
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm not a cozy mystery reader but I have to say this has piqued my interest. What a great idea for a story!
ReplyDeleteI'm actually new to this series but so happy I've discovered it! I love a good murder mystery, and this one has me intrigued. Now I want to know if it really was the killer that returned the book and why. Thanks for sharing. Hope we all enjoy this one :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday!

I'm not a big cozy mystery fan, but this series sounds really great. I hope you love this one! :D
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a really intriguing mastery. I might have to keep an eye out for this one.
ReplyDeleteThanks
Lynn :D
Oh I love that cover- with the stone and the books all over. I read a few cozies here and there and I've always been drawn to McKinlay's covers- whoever her cover designer is does a great job- and one of these days I'm going to tackle one of these.
ReplyDeleteI saw this one on First to Read this morning and was so tempted! I love the sound of this series. I hope you love it!
ReplyDeleteA librarian detective! How perfect is that?!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I really have been meaning to read a cozy mystery, but just haven't as yet. I'm not a huge fan of mysteries in general, because my heart belongs to Sherlock Holmes! Lol.
ReplyDeleteHaving stated all of the above, I must say that I really like this particular cozy! It's because books are part of the story, of course. I really like the way this cold case is introduced -- through a book that had not been returned in TWENTY years! WOW. I might be guilty of such a thing myself; I know I've kept library books WAY longer than their due dates! This is one of the reasons I no longer visit libraries. Heck, I don't even have a library card! Lol.
Anyway, I'm definitely adding this to my Goodreads shelves! Thanks so much for putting it on my radar!!
BTW, I read your reply to my note about the Book Blogger Hop. I hope to see you joining in, and also hope you enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my own WOW post!! <3 :)
