Stacking the Shelves (98)

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.  Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page.

I didn't really acquire much this week but the few I got were more than enough when you consider my last haul.  I received the following from the Penguin First to Read program.  The Night Ocean sounds pretty unique and I didn't realize The Forgotten Girls was the 6th in a series.  I don't know if I will be able to read it since I am pretty much a stickler about reading books in order.

I also picked up a few books from Amazon for my Kindle.  They always post new specials each month so I was able to grab some books of my wishlist for $2.00 or less each.  I've checked out A Murder in Time and The Great Hunt from my local library and never got to them and I couldn't resist the lure of Fraulein Frankenstein and Burning Man.

Finally, I don't think I ever mentioned it.  I got a new 8 inch Kindle Fire for Christmas and here is the cover I ordered and now use - isn't it the cutest? I LOVE IT!

So what did you add to your shelves this week???

  1. Love the Kindle cover...just what I'd expect you to grab! Cute! The cover for The Night Ocean is very eyecatching as well. I've been stung a few times by buying books and not realising they are part of a series. I think publishers need to say which book it is in the blurb and print it clearly on the book cover to save confusion. Have a good reading week!

    1. I totally agree about books in a series being labeled somehow. It seems like a no-brainer right? Almost finished a book this weekend despite it being a bad one.

I almost tried for The Forgotten Girl but now I am glad I didn't since it's 6th in a series cause I am like you, I need to start from the beginning. :)

  4. I love your kindle cover! I resisted the First to Read books this time. It was hard but I am determined to get a bit caught up and not take on new books unless I am just dying to read them. Enjoy!

    1. I may give it a go even though it's the sixth in a series.

  7. Adorable cover, I love it! Where'd you find it? I need to get a new cover for my IPad Mini but they're always so boring.

    1. I just searched 8 inch kindle conversion Amazon. I think it shipped from overseas because it took forever to get here.

  13. The Night Ocean is a gorgeous cover! And I'm the same, I hate reading things out of order if it can be helped... but sometimes it's okay. Love that Kindle cover!

    1. Thanks Kate. I'm horrible about not being able to read things out of sequence - even if they are only companion novels.
