Stacking the Shelves (105)

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.  Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page.

So I really didn't buy any books this week except maybe a few odd Amazon deals I saw.  I pretty much have a budget in my head each month for Amazon books so when I see them really cheap-, I usually grab them rather than just waiting.  I also received a few ARCs for review.  Let's look at them first.

"Lies She Told" sounds like a pretty good thriller which is due out in September.  I liked the sound of "The Somnambulist and Psychic Thief" which is the start of a new series.  It comes out in May and I'm on the search for a book which will fill the place of my Veronica Speedwell mysteries until the next one comes out next year.  Also, I read "Winter at the Dog & Duck" although it was called "Christmas at the Dog & Duck" in December last year and really liked it so I was thrilled to see "Summer at the Dog & Duck" appear for request.  I received a very speedy approval too,

I also grabbed  a few books from Amazon as I previously mentioned.  They were either free or really cheap (under $3.00) - I don't remember which.  "The Hollows" sounded interesting and I'm slowly collecting the Mexican Cafe Cozy Mystery books when I see them for free. " A Lying Witch"caught my attention because I'm a sucker for witches.

So what did you add to your collections this week???

  2. I love that Mexican Cafe book cover and title! I look forward to finding out more about that one. I wish I could say I showed restraint. After I finished my weekend roundup post I realised I was waiting for another four Amazon packages of books! Next week's post should be a riot...

    1. Restraint? What's restraint? And why would we need it when it comes to books - haha!

  7. Dang, I didn't know I would be learning a new vocabulary word today! Somnambulist: "walking in one's sleep or under hypnosis," from French somnambulisme, from Modern Latin somnambulus "sleepwalker," from Latin somnus "sleep" (see Somnus) + ambulare "to walk" (see amble (v.)). ... See sleepwalking.

I now need to read this book! Have a wakeful week.

  9. I have a copy of the Somnambulist & the Psychic Thief around here somewhere...I still need to read it though. I've always been curious about Lisa Tuttle, and I agree, the description does sound very intriguing! Can't wait to hear what you think :D

  10. I'm trying to limit my purchases, too, but I'm still not having the power to do it. ;)
I've bought lots of book Deals and freebies that I knew deep down it would be impossible for me to read them all. :(
Anyway, Lies She Told sounds great. I hope you enjoy them. :)

    1. I grab books when they are free and then tend to forget about them. Not a good habit but at least I'll find them if I ever want to read them.

  11. I usually have a gift card balance on amazon so I buy books when they sale if I think I will want to read it someday. I love quick netgalley approvals! Enjoy all of your new books!

  13. It's been ages since I read a Lisa Tuttle book. I love her work. I really like the title of her new one. I haven't heard of A Lying Witch, but it does sound good. I have a soft spot for witch books too. :-)

  15. Lies She Told looks intriguing. The cover is strangely familiar, but I think it's because it reminds me of another one, not because I've seen it before. Happy reading!
