I actually only have a small digital haul this week. I am planning on grabbing a few new releases for my Kindle soon but am waiting to see if the price drops any in the near future. I saw Hunter Shea announce on Twitter Thursday a new book up at Kindle (it may be a re-release, not sure) but I immediately had to go grab "Forest of Shadows" - $3.99 be damned! I also picked up "A Bark in the Night" which is a new series called The Talking Dog Detective Agency.
I also received a few books for review. I LOVE gargoyles and couldn't resist "The Atwelle Confession" when I saw it was a mystery prompted by the positioning of gargoyles in an ancient church. I featured "Walking with Peety" and "Saving Sadie" on Can't Wait Wednesday features before so I'm thrilled to be approved. Guess it's fitting for my Dog Days of Summer Challenge this month that I also grab some new dog books (like I need more!).
What did you guys add to your shelves this week???
Looks like you're prepared for the Dog Days of Summer challenge! And I became intrigued as soon as I saw "The Talking Dog Detective Agency"...interesting series name, wonder what it's all about!

I couldn't resist a series that mentions a talking dog!
DeleteI hope you enjoy your books 😊
ReplyDeleteI decided my Deep Blue Terror was a good excuse to grab a few shark and sea monster things for the tbr! I'll be getting them read quickly so I don't mind this one tiny splurge. I've been a good Chuckles for a whole month with limited book buying! No surprise to see you getting some dog books!
ReplyDeleteI'm so predictable sometimes.
DeleteMan, rereading the Walking with Peety blurb Sighs. Such goodness there. It just made me smile.
ReplyDeleteI know. It sounds so good and that dog is just too darn cute.
DeleteThat Shea book looks good so I put it on my wishlist since I don't have any book money right now. :( I want to Gargoyle one too!
ReplyDeleteYou need to request it then - like how I'm enabling you :)
DeleteLoving the look of the doggy books! Enjoy :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks. Always room for more dog books.
DeleteI only added one book to my shelf this week, a book for an honest review: True East by Raymond Ahrens. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy reading! ^.^
ReplyDeleteCheck out my STS at El's Book Reviews! I truly appreciate it!
Hope you have a great day!

I am so tempted by the Peety book. I also saw the Sadie book but I think it might make me hate people and adopt more dogs. I hope you enjoy all of your new reads.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with adopting more dogs? If I had more space, we'd have more for sure!
DeleteWell...we already have the maximum number of dogs allowed by the county that I live in so I should probably stop. I am sometimes tempted but worry that the county could make me give them up if someone complained.
DeleteA Bark in the Night sounds great. I'll have to add it to my list. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI stumbled across it on Amazon and am glad that I did.
DeleteCute dog books this week. :) I can't wait to hear more about Forest of Shadows. I hope the forest is character!
ReplyDeleteI'm buddy reading it next month so hopefully soon I'll have it all figured out. I pretty much grabbed it because it was horror and by Hunter Shea.
DeleteI keep seeing Hunter Shea pop up on various blogs, I'm going to have to check him out one of these days.
ReplyDeleteI kind of compare his writing to b-horror movies. Lots of blood, gore and fun but nothing to take too seriously. I highly recommend the novella Just Add Water as a starting point.
DeleteI might have bought one or two... but no review copies (thankfully!), as I was away on vacation, far from all that temptation :D
ReplyDeleteWaiting for a price drop sounds like a good call to me! I do that, too. Hope you had a great day! *pets all the pretty reads*
