So over Memorial Day weekend we were able to finish the little garden in our back year. We do this every year in memory of all our wonderful pets. This is their final resting place and we always want to do something special for him this year. Some of you have asked so I wanted to finally share some pictures.
Here are a couple of the headstones. Cicero, Cooper, Barkley and Booker T each have one. I bought T purple flowers for the garden as they always seemed to be his favorite.
We are always adding decorations each year as some inevitable end up breaking down from wear and tear. The little doggy with the tepee was an add last year. The lattice work has little LED solar butterfly lights weaving through it which burn brightly at night.
Here's some more flowers. I used to plant them in the ground but the dogs LOVED to water them for me. They survive better this way and hanging. There is also a bird feeder at one end for Cass so he can bird watch.
And here is Booker's memorial. The place that made the others went out of business so this one is thinner but it's still engraved nicely. It says "Daddy's Boy Forever - Always In Our Hearts."
We miss them all every day. There really are family members.
I love this little garden area. What a great way to remember your beloved pets. :)

Thank you. Cass laid down on Booker's grave when we were working on it. It was almost more than I could take!
DeleteThis is lovely and such a wonderful way to remember them. Thanks for sharing the photos.
ReplyDeleteYou're quite welcome. I love sharing my boys!
DeleteHow lovely - and that memorial stone - brings tears to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
Thanks Lynn.
DeleteBooker T's final resting place is beautiful Barb. I had tears in my eyes at the inscription. It is a wonderful way to remember them and be with them all. Thank you for sharing these photos. *hugs*
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I know you were asking about them so I was glad to show them off!
DeleteWhat a lovely memorial. I dread the day my pup passes away, but I know I'll make some kind of memorial like you have to always remember him.
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard but they give us so much joy.
DeleteThis is so sweet, Barb. I'm so glad you shared this, and I love the personalization with special things for each dog❤
ReplyDeleteThanks Tammy.
DeleteHow wonderful. Being single, I rented a lot of the houses I lived in and it still saddens me that I had to bury my beloved furry friends and leave them behind when I moved. I drive by those places often and always speak to them as I pass. I remmember exactly where they rest.
ReplyDeleteThat would be very hard.

ReplyDeleteThanks.
DeleteThis is so cool! I want to do something for mine, right now I just have a big rock marking them, but right now the mongrel would just dig up anything I tried to do so I can't yet.
ReplyDeletePoor Scrappy. Maybe she'll grow up soon!
DeleteThank you for sharing with us. This is really beautiful. Sending you lot of love.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alicia.
DeleteThanks for sharing this. I love your little garden! Today marks the year anniversary of Trixie passing. I still have her ashes by my bedside where she would sleep every night. I did find where her former owner was buried and put some of her ashes on his grave.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry for your loss. That's awesome about finding where her former owner was buried. How thoughtful and I'm sure he and Trixie are smiling down on you.
DeleteThis is a beautiful garden Barb!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteI think that's a lovely idea! The loss of a pet is devastating, and I think this is a wonderful way to remember them.
