I'm sure we all have them. The books we really love but for some reason don't get mentioned much. Today I'm sharing books I feel in love with before I really started blogging. Thus, they haven't been seen her much.
It really doesn't get mentioned much but I really did love The Talisman when I read it back in 2003. Of course, I also loved its sequel, The Black House.
I also used to read tons of vampire books in all genres but The Hunger remains one of my faves.
I told you there was a vampire trend. This time in 2004 I took the humorous route. This book also started my love affair with Christopher Moore.
In 2003-2007 I also read a lot of paranormal romance and Katie MacAlister was one of my favorite authors.
I grew up loving General Hospital so in 2005, when one of my favorite soap actresses, Finola Hughes, came out with a book, I had to rush out and get it. It was a fun read and I still recall reading the whole thing while my dad was in surgery. Strange how we associate books with certain events.
I really loved all the books in the Demon Hunting Soccer Mom series. I think more people should go back and check them out. They contain supernatural elements as well as humor.
The Harper Connelly series by Charlaine Harris is a great mystery series featuring quirky siblings.
This is STILL one of my favorite boxer books.
I hope to go back and reread the first few books in this series one day because I want to complete the whole thing. I would HIGHLY recommend these to anyone who loves the Kate Daniels or Mercy Thompson books.
I think I've actually featured this one a few lists before but not a lot. It doesn't have the highest Goodreads rating , but I really enjoyed this horror novel.
So there you have it. Books I don't mention a lot. Have you read any of these?
These all look like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI have read the Hunger and I also had the first couple of books in the Charlaine Harris series but never actually read them for some reason.

I used to read every single Christopher Moire book, and I even met him years ago, but I haven't been keeping up with his latest books, unfortunately. But I also loved Bloodsucking Fiends!
ReplyDeleteI've never read The Talisman! I've liked a lot of King's other books, though, so I should give this one a try. :)
ReplyDeleteMy TTT.
Yeah, so I have only heard of a few of those! :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't even heard of any of these! I'm glad they're books you enjoyed, even if you don't talk about them much.
ReplyDeleteHappy TTT!
The Birthing House -- wow. I...have never seen a book have THAT low of an average rating after THAT many reviews. What happens to make people hate it so much?? How could that cover and summary go astray?? I wanna read it out of spite but even though I trust your book taste, the phrase "gratuitous swearing and sex" I just saw in one review is enough to stop me.
ReplyDeletethey all look great. i see one or two that will end up on my reading list. :-)

I really need to read a book by Christopher Moore. I've always meant to!

I added Dreaming in Libro to my Goodreads. I love a good pet brings out the best in a person story. Especially when it's a true story. 🐾✨
ReplyDeleteI loved Grave Sight, too! That's my favorite series of hers and I rarely talk about it. I should!
ReplyDeleteI see a few that I DNFed here! Humour and vampires never seem to work out that well for me! I never did try The Talisman...not really sure why.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed the Harper Connelly series for the most part. I can remember exactly what I was doing when I read certain books even though I don't remember details of those books. It is strange how the mind works.
