Basically just working and playing peacemaker. All and all it was a good week. I still haven't felt 100% since having Covid but I don't feel badly enough to say I'm actually still sick. I know that probably makes no sense right?
Yesterday my Mom and I went to the local Sternwheel Festival. Noting like festival food right? It was nice to walk along the river and look at all the sternwheelers but I won't lie, I'm not much of a crowd person anymore. At least it was all outside.
WHAT I'M READING:
I finished two books and a graphic novel this past week. I hope you saw my raving review of The Dead Romantics which is shaping up to be my favorite read of the month. I really need to get busy on The Witching Hour so it will probably be my focus once I finish my current read. I'm over half way through The Weight of Blood, which is looking to be either a 2 paw read or a 5 paw read. That's how confused I am on my enjoyment level. I also need to get to The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches before it's due back on Overdrive.
WHAT I'M WATCHING:
Football - lots and lots of football. And my Alma Mater beat #8 ranked Notre Dame yesterday. It was a complete upset and I'm loving it. I always hate it when powerhouse schools put smaller institutions on their schedule as pretty much "gimme games." Smaller schools take the games because they rely on the big payoff for doing it. And I have to say, I can't really blame them. But yesterday, Notre Dame paid 1.25 million dollars to have Marshall come into their house and hand it to them.
My bestie Stormi had to move her blog this past week and since we get a lot of the same visitors, I told her I would make sure and share her new location. Make sure you stop by and visit her at Storm Reads.
I love it too when smaller teams come in and get the win. Congrats! And your reads look good. I'm all for spookier reads in fall.
ReplyDeleteI am wanting to devour all the spooky things right now - even more so than I normally do.
DeleteI was excited for Marshall! What a fun football game that was. My alma mater beat #9 Baylor last night, so that made me happy. :D
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you too. I love underdogs and upsets. They make the game worth watching. In fact, I love college football so much more than pro. It seems to matter more to the athletes and you can't beat that college atmosphere of unity.
Deleteyes I'm not into crowds at all. I'm still playing it as safe as possible. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteAnne - Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Safe is always good!
DeleteSounds like you have Long CoVid, it’s disturbingly common and the severity varies.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your team win!
Wishing you a great reading week
I really hope not but your comment did make me read up on long covid so I suppose it's quite possible. What a cluster this has all been huh?
DeleteHope we both like The Witching Hour but as of right now I am so not sure about it...lol. Can't wait to get to the witchy part!
ReplyDeleteThe in-between of being sick and actually being well is no fun! I hope you feel 100% soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks Erica. I'm a week behind on comments and have to admit this week has been a bit better.
DeleteNow I'm super curious to read your review of The Weight of Blood, lol. I've been hearing great things about the Very Secret Society, hope you enjoy it! And I was never big on crowds even before Covid, so I totally get it😁
ReplyDeleteI hope to post my review Friday or Saturday. I really enjoyed it but it's a hard one to out into words for some reason.
