This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE. Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading. This week is a Halloween related freebie and since I've already done Halloween TBR's, favorite horror books, etc and don't really want to bore you with more of the same thing, I am featuring 10 Scary Covers. Some of these I've read and some of these I'd like to read!
I read this in 2003 and while I don't remember a whole lot about it, I wouldn't want to meet that woman in a dark alley...or anywhere for that fact,
I love Scott Nicholson books and need to read more of them.
This book may be an oldie but I really enjoyed it back in 2004. Cemeteries are always creepy, but I love them!
Almost too fuzzy to be creepy but Susan Sheppard is a local historian in my town and every Halloween she does haunted ghost tours. We went one year and it was fun walking around familiar sites and hearing all the legends.
Creepy ghost in doorknocker. Rather unsettling if I do say so myself.
Haven't read this but I really want to do so.
I've heard great things about this entire series.
In my book, it doesn't get much creepier than clowns (and people on stilts but that's a whole 'nother phobia for me). WONDERFUL BOOK! Must re-read soon.
Got to read this and find out what's up with this cover!
Just stumbled on this one but possession stories creep me out and that cover!!!!!
So, have you guys read any of these? Maybe we've all discovered some new books so we can make it Halloween reading time all year round!
I love the covers for the first one and for The Replacements, but the It one is definitely the creepiest! I'm not even scared of clowns in general, but I definitely wouldn't want to run into him lol. I'd maybe like to read Rot & Ruin too though!
ReplyDeleteThese are indeed some scary covers! "The Replacements" casts the most sinister vibe, in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI love covers and I keep trying to choose which I think is the best. Tougher than I that...drum roll please...I choose The Replacement makes me think something really evil is inside.

Officially creeped out! LOL! Rot and ruin is the worst /best to me.
ReplyDeleteGreat covers, most of those I haven't read. I think you would like The Replacements as I read it a while back and remember liking it. :) That last one, about demons intrigues me and frightens me at the same time...lol.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, these all freak me out, especially It with the creepy clown and then the one with the baby carriage with the implements dangling above it. Great selection!
ReplyDeleteScary covers- great way to go. These are all books I might turn face down when I'm not reading them lol!
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely creepy! The most creepy for me is The Replacement. I'm always scared when I see horror revolving around babies or kids.
ReplyDeletePennywise will always be the scariest for me. Never did like clowns, and that book sealed the deal. LOL And The Replacement is chilling. So is Demons.
ReplyDeleteIT! My favourite book! I read Haunted years ago and I loved it in that sick twisted sort of way that I have. Never liked anything else by the author so I need to reread it at some point and see if I feel the same. Now if you want a REALLY creepy cover, check out Spawn by Paige Reiring. *shudder* Good story too!
ReplyDeleteI love the whole Rot & Ruin series covers. They look awesome laying next to each other.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, I read the Tamara Thorne one a while back and I don't really remember much about it either. I haven't read Rot & Ruin, but I would like too. :D Great list!
ReplyDeleteYikes, the cover for The Replacement is all kinds of ominous! I haven't heard of it before, but now I'm curious and going to look it up.

Oooooo, those are super creepy! The one that really gets me is The Replacements!! Something about taking a thing that's normally "sweet" and turning it creepy that makes it 10X as creepy!!
ReplyDeleteI've always felt The Replacement was a creepy cover. ;) Haunted is as well. And Demons? Totally gives me the heebie-jeebies!
