Cloak & Dagger 2017 Sign Up
I had so much fun co-hosting with Stormi last year that when she asked about doing this again in 2017, it was pretty much a no-brainer for me. I easily achieved last years goal and hope to increase it this year.
In order to mix things up a tad, Stormi and I have added a few different things this year. The first thing is we've created a facebook group for participants to join so we can have some extra interaction. Feel free to share what you are reading, what you've loved and what you've hated, or just plain give a shout out. In addition, I really want to help Stormi more with this so I've decided maybe once to twice a month to post a mystery related discussion question for people to answer. I think it's a great way to get to know each other better and share our love of books. Here is the link to join.
So here are the challenge rules:
*You can read any book that is from the mystery/suspense/thriller/crime genre. Any sub-genres are welcome as long as they incorporate one of these themes.
* You don't need a blog to participate but you do need a place to post your reviews to link up (Blog, Goodreads, Boolikes, Shelfari, etc).
* Make a goal post and link it back here with your goal for this challenge.
* Books need to be novellas or novels, please no short stories (at least 100 pages or more)
* Crossovers into other challenges are fine.
* The challenge will be from January 1st to December 31st (sign up ends April 15th).
LEVELS:
5-15 books - Amateur Sleuth
16-25 books- Detective
26-35 books- Inspector
36-55 books - Special Agent
56+ books - Sherlock Holmes
There will be a monthly link-up so that others can check out your progress and look at your reviews. At the halfway mark and at the end, we will have a giveaway for those participating. If you tweet about your progress or reviews please use the #2017CloakDaggerChal so other can see it.
Stormi and I also created a mini-challenge this year. We both have so many series we want to get to and we figured a lot of you did as well, so we've created the "Can you read a series in a year?" challenge. At the end of the year, we will have a link up for the last book in the series or at least the last book that is out as it can be a series still going on. You can then sign up for the series ender giveaway for a $5 gift card. It's a totally optional challenge, but we just wanted to try something different this year.
So there you have it. Feel free to sign up now and I will have my sign up post coming very soon. Thank so much for everyone who joined last year and I look forward to interacting with you more during 2017.

You know I almost did this challenge this past year but I decided to do a year without any challenges, but I think I may do this one in '17. I don't read a TON of mysteries a year but I do read a few and some thrillers too, so this looks fun. :) And I love the idea of mystery discussion posts. :)
ReplyDeleteOh please do Greg. It will be a lot of fun. I enjoyed it last year and Stormi's a great co-host.
DeleteWould love to have you join in! :)
DeleteThis looks like I can do it, since I read mainly thrillers, mysteries, and such. I'm in!
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely sign up and don't forget mine and Stormi's facebook group as well.
DeleteI'm in again. I had a great time last year and this looks like another fun year.
ReplyDeleteI'm joining this one! :)
ReplyDeleteJust realized basically all of Julie Miller's books would count in this challenge. Think I'm going to join this, already did 1.
