TITLE: Just One Bite (Dances with Werewolves #1)
AUTHOR: Nora Snowdon
PUBLISHER: Nora Snowdon
PUBLISHING DATE: October 24, 2016
FROM GOODREADS: Rosie has met the man of
her dreams... Or could it really be her nightmares? After fabulous sex,
he suddenly disappears. He re-enters her life in time for her to
discover he's being forced into a shotgun wedding.
Lucas finds in
Rosie everything he's ever wanted in a mate. Only problem is, she's
human. His werewolf parents want him to marry a nice girl with a fur
coat, but the woman they've chosen is a bitch in more ways than one.
When his fiancée Annabelle accidently bites Rosie she is thrown into a
whole new fuzzy lifestyle.
If Lucas can just downplay the
negative aspects of being a werewolf - fleas, the desire to chase
motorcycles, and Uncle Harold - maybe he can convince Rosie that
Annabelle's bite is actually a good thing. Now that she too is a
werewolf, they can be together.
Can Lucas win back the love of
his life? Can Rosie love a man who moonlights as a wolf? A sexy comedy
that will have you howling...
MY THOUGHTS: I'll be the first to
admit I requested this from Netgalley because despite the fact that a
lot of people find paranormal romance cartoony book covers to be cheesy,
I find them pretty endearing and I couldn't resist this one. Also, a
series called "Dances with Werewolves" is one I almost have to explore.
Rosie
is a quiet, hardworking gal who is constantly overshadowed by her
friend Eve, is is always picking up random guys searching for Mr. Right.
One night, Rosie meets the gorgeous Lucas and can't believe he shows
any interest in her. About that same time, she also meets a stray dog
who becomes her jogging partner most days. Rosie and Lucas eventually
have a one night stand but little does she know, he and the dog/wolf are
one in the same and pack rules prohibit them from being together.
"Just
One Bite" is a fun, sexy romp. It was a really easy read and just what I
needed to fill the time after some more complex November titles (and
the infamous slump of November 2016). My main regret is that it is
basically a novella and it was over before I wanted it to be. I really
like Snowdon could have made this a much longer, more complex novel and
it would have been just as much fun and just as good. Either that, or
maybe some warning that it was so short. Either way, there is a sequel
coming out in which we learn more about Lucas's brother which I am
interesting in reading. If you like paranormal romance and aren't
looking for a light read, you can't really go wrong with this one,
especially given it's length.
RATING: 3 PAWS
This sounds really cute. I haven't read a werewolf book in ages after burning myself out on them a few years ago.
ReplyDeleteI love the covers too, Barb! And I enjoy a light easy story now and then. Got a bunch like this one:)
