This top 10 weekly meme is hosted by The Broke and the Bookish and can be found HERE. Each week they focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading. This week is a freebie choice so I am sharing 10 series I need to start/finish.
The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. Chuckles has raved about this series and Oberon the dog and she is sure I'll love it as well. I trust her judgement so I WILL start it in 2017.
A Wishcraft Mystery Series by Heather Blake. I've read the first 3 books but I'm still 4 behind!
The Splintered Series from A.G. Howard. I own these three books and have yet to start. I've seen mixed reviews but I'll give it a go. This is my favorite cover from the series - book 2.
Chet and Bernie Mysteries from Spencer Quinn. I've read a short story from this series and am pretty sure I will love this dog and detective duo who communicate with each other.
War With No Name series by Robert Repino. This is relatively new. The second book comes out in May with only the first book and a novella out now. Need to get cracking as I don't know how long it's planned.
Witchlands by Susan Dennard. I see from Goodreads there are at last 4 books planned and since I own the first two, there's no excuse not to start.
The Conqueror's Saga by Kiersten White. The second book comes out in June so I have plenty of time to get the first one finally read.
Ryder Creed series by Alex Kava. I'm really excited to get this series started, and hopefully caught up on this year.
Wayfarers by Becky Chambers. I've heard only good things about this series and since I see there is already a third book planned, I better get reading.
A Charmed Pie Shoppe Mystery series by Ellery Adams. Stormi recommended this to me and I immediately added the first one to my Kindle so I have no excuse not to start.
So, have you read any of these or are any of these books you need to read as well???
Heck I still need to START Iron Druid lol. One of these days... And Truthwitch as well. I think you'll like the Wayfarers book, they're awesome!!
ReplyDeleteI still need to pick up A Closed and Common Orbit, but I do hope to get to them both this year. I just grabbed Windwitch so I have no excuse not to read them either - other than there are too many books and too little time.
DeleteYes to Oberon! I really hope you love the series Barb!
ReplyDeleteI love Oberon already!
DeleteYes, you must start the Wayfarers. I loved Small Angry Planet so much.
ReplyDeleteI will go against the grain on Iron Druid, though I only read the first. I see the appeal but though only a bit old it is already dating itself; Oberon making ten year old South Park references didn't really endear him to me.
I've only heard good things about Small Angry Planet so I can't imagine not liking it. Seeing as how I'm dog crazy, I figure I'll find Oberon entertaining which will probably keep the series going for me.
DeleteI really want to read Becky Chamber's series as well, but I didn't realize there was a third book planned. Better figure out how to squeeze that series in soon!
ReplyDeleteI didn't either until I started making this list and it mentioned on Goodreads.
DeleteI need to read a lot of books from your list!
ReplyDeleteMy TTT,
Sounds like we're in the same boat!
DeleteDefinitely can't go wrong with Alex Kava!
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental My TT
Glad to hear it. It will be the first time I've read anything by her.
DeleteAwesome list! I feel like i've heard a lot of good things about And I Darken, and it seems like something i'd like. Hopefully we can both start/finish all of the series on our lists.

I hope it's a dark as I think it is - I love dark books.
DeleteHaha I'm trying to finish up series this year, Barb. I'm up to ~150 series I'm behind in. 0_0 However, I want to start Dennard's series, Howard's series, and White's series too! Far too many books, far too little time...
ReplyDeleteSounds like we're definitely in the same boat.
DeleteOmg I can't wait for Now I Rise!! I'm looking forward to that one so much. I haven't read any of the other ones on your list, but I do want to read some of them. I need to finish more series this year myself. I'm always behind! :P
ReplyDeleteIt's hard not to be behind when there are so many good books being released every month.
DeleteI want to start the Iron Druid series too, it's been on my list for a long time...lol. I also want to try the Ryder Creed series! Hope you like Pies and Prejudice! :)
ReplyDeleteWe might have to do a "One Book Two Blogger" read for an older title sometime this year. It might be a fun change of pace :)
DeleteChuckles's review of Hounded also made me interested in that one. And Greg made me interested in Small Angry Planet. So I'm considering those series as well. I would also like to try Splintered, but that's probably mostly because of the covers lol.
ReplyDeleteYea those covers pretty much seal the deal huh?
DeleteI am right there with you! I really need to read the Truthwitch series. I've seen so many great reviews for it. Nice idea for a top ten!
ReplyDeleteThanks Angie and thanks for visiting.
DeleteI really need to read And I Darken. I have an ARC that I haven't read so I feel a bit guilty about it. Truthwitch is also on my TBR. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI have an ARC of that one too. I'm surprised I haven't read it by now. I used to be obsessed with Dracula type tales but kind of got away from them the past few years.
DeleteI could probably fill a list like this with UF series alone. So many new ones spring up each year, while the long running ones still continue - and I just find myself falling more and more behind :)
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
I know. I really hope to read more urban fantasy this year.
DeleteI've only read the first Iron Druid Chronicles book, but it was hilarious. You will love Oberon.
ReplyDeleteHe sounds so awesome. Can't wait to learn more about him!
DeleteHappy reading to you!! I hope you are able to finish reading the books in each series!!

Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI'm planning to read "The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet" soon and I'm so excited! And the Chet and Bernie mysteries are always on my series-to-continue lists and it never seems to happen! I read and enjoyed the first book years ago now and I really would like to read more. I'm pretty sure you'll like it too -- it's told from the dog's perspective!
ReplyDeleteI read a Chet and Bernie short story one and really liked it, although I could tell I'd missed a few things by not reading the other books in the series.
Deletethe Iron Druid series is aMAZING. AMAZING. And Oberon is as beloved as the main character. AND, you might want to check out Oberon's Twitter/Facebook, because yes he has one!
ReplyDeleteI actually follow Oberon's page - he's so hilarious. It seems most people really love these books!
DeleteI loved Dog On It. I'm betting you will too. Now I need to get going on the rest of the series.
ReplyDeleteI think I actually own the first 5 or so - I grab them from Book Outlet whenever I see them for cheap!
DeleteI need to read And I Darken too!

DeleteI just bought the first book in that Becky Chambers series and I am EXCITED. It sounds amazing. :D
