Stacking the Shelves (101)

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews.  Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page.

I ran into one of our local libraries (the one I don't frequent too often) to see if they had any new CD's in to borrow and while I was there, I couldn't help but browse the new book section.  I've always been interested on Octavia Butler's Kindred so when I saw the new graphic novel, I snatched it.  The same goes for Department Zero (there must be more horror visitors at this branch because they always seem to have the newer releases of horror/fantasy).  Finally, I picked up the next book in the Southern Cousins Mystery because I want to continue on and I knew they had it. (that's Elvis the Basset on the cover).

I also grabbed the following for free from Amazon.  Nine Eyes is a horror novel, Brenna's Wing a novella and I don't remember much about The Soul Catcher.

Well, that's all for me this week.  I'm fighting a cold and feel like I'm losing so I'm cutting this short.  What did  you add to your stacks?

  1. Nice. I wonder if my library has Kindred. I had no idea it was in graphic novel form.

    1. I saw it mentioned on someone's blog, and then couldn't resist when I saw it on the new graphic novel shelf.

  2. Ooh some scary reads. :) My library doesn't get a lot of new stuff, or graphic novels, I guess I need to request more and maybe they'll start carrying some of that stuff.

    1. I have three area libraries. All three are sort of connected, but one had different loan rules. I try to visit this one 3-4 times a year.

  3. I love that Elvis cover! I love bassett hounds and I'm an Elvis fan so that kind of makes me want to read the book...characters in the books seem a bit sex obsessed though which puts me off a bit. Hope you feel better soon! I haven't been to my library in years. The staff are hopeless, the books are many years out of date and it's expensive.

    1. We had a Basset Hound growing up - his name was Rusty. I love their ears and they are so laid back. I've always secretly thought Eeyore would be a good name for a Basset.

  10. I drove by the library yesterday. No place to park or I would have run in. They have a book shop and I like to buy from them. Nine Eyes looks wicked.

    1. I can get lost when I have the time. Usually I have to run in really quickly during lunch so I use the online system to make sure I know what I'm going after a lot.
