So thankfully it's kind of been an uneventful week at The Farm. Definitely needed one of those. However, looking back, the week does seem like it last forever so I'm not quite sure what's up. Thursday Mr. Barb and I tried a new diner for takeout. The food was massive! We ordered fried veggies (love my fried pickles) and he ordered a "kitchen sink" burger. Have you ever had a burger with fried mac and cheese on it? It was huge! He liked it but said it needed more condiments.
The pups are doing great. They are gearing up for Thanksgiving and Cassius' birthday in a few weeks. Mr. Barb works this weekend so besides visiting Grandpa, I hope to clean carpets and get some Christmas shopping done (I'm so behind on that). Oh and remember my cousin the nuisance? He landed in rehab. Sad because I'm sure she needs it as much as he does. Bet no one saw that coming - RIGHT!
There was a huge charity book sale in town this week and it just happened to be in a church basement 2 blocks from work. But you'll hear all about that in tomorrow's post. We really only watched one movie "War of Planet of the Apes." I cheered for the apes, cursed the humans and cried! It was good but I had trouble watching it - I'm such an ape fan. And Bad Ape was so darn cute!
I'm participating in the #HoHoHoRAT this week so that's why you'll see Christmas books on this week's reading stack. I'm about 75% done with A Christmas Peril and then I'll be moving on to "The 12 Slays of Christmas."
So what has everyone else been up to and what do you plan on reading this week???
Good luck with your Christmas shopping. I usually do mine about two days before in a mad panic. Nothing like being organised.

Sometimes disorganized is the way to go. When I start shopping super early, I tend to buy more.
DeleteCan't believe how quickly this year has gone by. November was here in a blink, and yep, in a couple weeks it'll be Thanksgiving, I still can't believe it. Looks like you're gearing up for Christmas already with your reads, I hope you enjoy!

I agree it's flying by fast. Pretty soon everyone will be recapping 2017!
DeleteI haven't even begun to think about Christmas shopping! I'm that last minute shopper, I was a little better when my kids were younger, but everyone is older, and it isn't that hard to shop for them for Christmas. I really miss when they were kids, making their Christmas lists and leaving cookies for Santa! My Hubby works every weekend, and it really puts a damper on our quality time. But we do squeeze some things in here and there! Happy reading and enjoy your shopping!!!
ReplyDeleteI love buying for other people which is probably the only thing that gets me through the Christmas madness.
DeleteI still haven't done any Christmas shopping though I do have some things saved on my cart on Amazon. I like shopping in stores more. I find impulse buys make awesome gifts. They do fit the people I'm buying for. Great books this week. And I love fried pickles too!
ReplyDeleteI did a tad bit but the rest will more than likely be ordered.
DeleteIn the old Planet of the Apes films I was always on the side of the monkeys! I watched the one with Mark Wahlberg but haven't seen the newer ones. My dad likes them. We don't bother with Christmas now but I'll be getting my food shopping done before the end of this month so I can avoid the shops for December!
ReplyDeleteGood idea. I hate Walmart in December.
DeleteSounds like a lovely week! I'm also a total sucker for fried pickles! It's almost lunch time here... I may have to go search some out! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are awesome!
DeleteI can't even think of Christmas yet. I probably should because I will be running around like a crazy person at the last minute. I don't think I have ever had a fried pickle. Good luck with the rest of the readathon!
ReplyDeleteThey are pretty good. My husband turned me on to them.
DeleteGlad to hear things are a bit uneventful for you right now. My grandfather has reach the end of life phase so I haven't been online much. I haven't read anything in the last couple of weeks, but I'm hoping to catch up on how everyone else is doing.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy all of your Christmas books. I've already been listening to some Christmas music while riding in the car.
So sorry to hear about your Grandfather. I can't imagine. I'm not quite in the mood for Christmas music yet but soon. I love any excuse to listen to my Barenaked Ladies Christmas album.
