This week's topic is favorite bookish website or bloggers. I've done at least 3 posts on blogs I love and to be honest, I'm grateful for each and every person that visits me and love discovering their blog so I'm not going to do that. Instead, I'm going to share with you my top 5 favorite reasons for blogging!
I love meeting new people! I think it's great that through the internet I've been able to meet so many wonderful people from so many places. Blogging has helped me make some wonderful connections all over the world.
It's a great way to discover new books! Who am I kidding, it's also a great way to discover old books and sometimes even discover books I own and have forgotten all about.
The blogging community is full of wonderful people! It's so nice to put up a post and then a day or so later see how many people have commented. Seriously, people worry when the pups or Mr. Barb is ill, they comment on all my family drama, and I think for the most part, they enjoy my reviews and thoughts on books. Thank heavens my blog has been drama free (and I hope it stays that way), which is so refreshing when life gets messy!
I'm always learning new things! So I've learned how to make some graphics (although I still need help), link youtube videos, interact on Twitter and heck, I even just started an instagram account (although I'm still HIGHLY challenged on that end).
I've gotten to interact with some really cool authors! I never guessed when I first started blogging that I would end up interacting with so many great authors. I've had some wonderful guest posts on The Farm and have had several authors respond on Twitter and Goodreads. Heck, some even reach out and think to email me copies of their new books prior to their release.
And finally YOU!!!
I agree with all your reasons though I probably don't learn much, other than new ways to swear when the computer won't work! I'd like to do those graphics where I can add my name and the book cave onto the pictures I use on the blog but I'm clueless about that kind of thing!
ReplyDeleteI love it - new ways to swear :)
DeleteI totally agree with all these reasons! I've "met" so many wonderful people and my TBR is bigger than I ever thought it would be!
ReplyDeleteYep, definitely a side effect of blogging - unmanageable TBRs.
DeleteTotally agree with all of what you said. It's an amazing community and it makes me smile every day.
ReplyDeleteMost definitely.
DeleteI can relate to your reasons. My life is more interesting and fun since I've started blogging and I've net some great people and authors:)
ReplyDeleteI know. The blogging community is great.
DeleteThis is an awesome list, I agree with each point. I never expected blogging to be such a learning experience, but I still learn new things all the time😊
ReplyDeleteThat's part of the fun right?
DeleteI am so glad to have discovered your blog. I am not sure how it happened. I don't remember. But of course it was because of our mutual love of dogs I am sure.
ReplyDeleteI forget as well how we "met" but I'm sure glad we did :)
DeleteGreat list of reasons Barb! These are all reasons that I can relate to as well! And now that I've found you, I'm a new follower! Thanks for always stopping by and commenting at Somewhere Only We Know!
ReplyDeleteSandy
Thanks Sandy! I always enjoy stopping by and seeing what you are up to!
DeleteI couldn't agree with the points you made more.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Thanks and thanks for visiting The Farm.
DeleteI love that you went off script. :-)
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
It seems I'm always going off script.
DeleteI've been able to meet some really cool authors too since I've started blogging too!
ReplyDeleteHere's a link to my TTT post this week: http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2018/08/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-book.html
There's so many perks to blogging.
DeleteGreat points! I love talking books with other bloggers and seeing what books they recommend, too. (And I couldn't narrow the blogs I love down to just ten either, which is why I didn't even try to do this TTT.) :D
ReplyDeleteYes, that would have been hard. Plus, I've already named some of my faves three different times in the past.
DeleteI am forever grateful to the community for helping me read out of my comfort zone and for helping expand my comfort zone as well. I've learned so much from being a blogger and the people are so great. Love this post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alicia. I'm really enjoying your visits and comments this month! Such a fun challenge you guys host each summer.
DeleteI love the way you approached this topic. I definitely embarked on blogging and blog hopping for the books, but I have stayed for all the wonderful people in the community.
ReplyDeleteSo many great people. I think other areas of the world should take a cue.
DeleteI agree with all of these- such an amazing community. I consider myself so lucky to have met so many of you! I can't even imagine all the friends I would have missed out on if I never took up this crazy blogging adventure. :) It really is special!
ReplyDeleteWell said!
DeleteI agree with all of this. I love interacting with the community and also learning about new books - though of course my TBR grows more unmanageable by the day because of it! :)
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
Yes, someday my TBR might cave in on me.
DeleteI love this twist on this week's topic :) These are all great reasons for blogging!
ReplyDeleteMegan - Ginger Mom and the Kindle Quest
Thanks Megan!
DeleteGreat post - I love your blog - it's just the right balance of fun/info. Plus, I may be a sucker where dogs are concerned.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
Awwww, thanks Lynn. I'm just so glad people enjoy it.
DeleteYES! The bookish community is awesome, and I’ll never run out of things to read because of it.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I know. In fact, it's sad that I'll probably never get to all the stuff I want to read.
DeleteGREAT post, Barb!!! :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the way you "tweaked" the meme prompt for this week, and, instead of mentioning specific blogs and bloggers, gave your readers your most important reasons for blogging!
And I feel the same way about blogging! All of the reasons you have listed are the very same ones that keep me posting away, week after week, month after month, year after year!! Thanks to this wonderfully entertaining activity, I've met some VERY nice people, such as YOU!! And, of course, I've also met Book and Cass! "ARF, ARF"!!!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!! Keep 'em coming!! HUGS TO YOU AND THOSE ADORABLE PUPS, AND "WOOF, WOOF" TO THEM!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
The pups say "Hi Auntie Maria!"
DeleteYes, these are all some of my favorite reasons too - this community is wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteCheck out my TTT and celebrate my blogoversary with a giveaway
