Can't Wait Wednesday (292)

Can't Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted at Wishful Endings to spotlight highly anticipated books.  It is based on the Waiting on Wednesday meme which used to be hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.

FROM GOODREADS: One apartment building, many stories. A chilling thriller that's perfect for fans of grounded horror like Get Out, Us and It Follows.

A dinner party is held in the penthouse of a multimillion-pound development. All the guests are strangers - even to their host, the billionaire owner of the building.

None of them know why they were selected to receive his invitation. Besides a postcode, they share only one thing in common - they've all experienced an unsettling occurrence within the building's walls.

By the end of the night, their host is dead, and none of the guests will say what happened.

His death remains one of the biggest unsolved mysteries - until now.

WHY I CAN'T WAIT:  I love closed circle mysteries and this sounds like a closed circle horror novel.  Sign me up!  Seems like the movie Get Out is being used a lot on book comparisons now too.  Just a side note.

CASSIUS'S PICK:

FROM GOODREADS: A powerful story of two unlikely friends brought together by the love of a dog

It only takes one day at their new school for Parker and Sven to become mortal enemies. Parker's had a terrible summer and just wants to be invisible, while Sven is desperate to make an impression and be known as anything other than "that boy with epilepsy".

When Parker discovers her beloved dog Alaska – who she had to give away last year – now belongs to Sven, she's determined to steal her back. Of course, that's easier said than done...

WHY CASSIUS CAN'T WAIT:  So I love the idea of a dog bring two kids together in friendship.  And how cool is the name Alaska?

WHAT BOOK CAN'T YOU WAIT FOR THIS WEEK????

  7. I liked Get Out, but I’m skeptical of all the comparisons. EVERYTHING can’t be Get Out. I hope you enjoy these!
