Welcome from The Farm. Hope you all had a great week. Mine was hot, annoying and stressful. I'm glad today is Friday. The temps are once again rising, along with the humidity so when you step outside, you feel like you are swimming in soup or warm bath water - take your pick. Last weekend and the first few days of the week I was just rolling along like a reading machine and then a wall called "life" suddenly appeared out of nowhere and I ran smack, dab into it! At least I managed to finish a book and a half before the hitting it.
We watched a movie last weekend called "Feed the Devil" which was strangely entertaining and bad at the same time. Then this past week we watched a new released called "Viral" which actually wasn't too bad. There haven't been that many great releases but we did start watching "11/22/63" on Amazon since it was finally released on DVD/Demand and episodes 1 & 2 were pretty good and I'm not hating James Franco as the MC as much as I thought I would so I have hope for the remaining 7. I just hope it doesn't become another "Under the Dome" because what ABC did to that book is downright shameful.
The pups are good but hot. They don't get out much when it's this hot because Booker T and his pug nose has difficulty breathing in the heat and humidity, so we are left to amuse them and run their energy off indoors which is always fun. Preseason NFL Football starts tonight with both the Steelers and Bengals playing so I should be able to relax, have a cold one or two and read some while flipping channels between the two (husband will actually be doing the physical flipping). Here are the books that are up next on the July TBR stack for this coming week,
Plus I'm picking this up from the library Saturday (it's been there on hold for several days) and it's going to take everything I have not to start it instead!!!! I ADORE this series.
So what do you have planned for the next few days? Everyone stay cool and enjoy the Olympics if that's you're thing or if it's not, something else.
I didn't get much reading done this week either. Life, always getting in the way lol. At least you got to watch some good stuff, and I'm glad the dogs are doing well :-)
ReplyDeleteI've definitely been enjoying the Olympics! I'm probably gonna bore everyone to death talking about it in my Weekly Update this weekend, haha. Have a great weekend!
Rat Queens~ How cool is that cover?!
ReplyDeleteMy reading has ground to a halt because of the Olympics so I don't hold out much hope for next week either! Big hugs to your poor boys and I hope you get a break in the weather soon!
ReplyDeleteSince I have been canning a lot I have been getting lots of audiobooks read but my eARC's are taking a beating as I haven't got to read many of those...not to mention my Can You Read series! :( Then when school starts on the 22nd...oh goodness I am getting nervous about that...lol..there will go my extra reading time. :(
ReplyDeleteOnce you get back into a school routine, I'm sure you'll find time to read. No matter what I do, I have to make time for it or I get really grumpy (and if I can admit I'm getting grumpy, it must be true. I STILL can't get into audiobooks. When I'm able to listen to something, I enjoy music so much that it's my go-to.
DeleteI didn't get to read that much this week either, though on the bright side, my audiobook listening went up, helping me catch up a bit. Hope you get a chance to make a dent in your TBR!
