Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews. And it now has a new co-host where individuals can link up as well - Marlene from Reading Reality. Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page. I'm also now linking up with the Sunday Post which is hosted by Kimberly@Caffeinated Book Reviewer. I'm hoping to discover some new blogs to love.
This week I have a few Kindle acquisitions and a few digital ARCs. And oh yeah, I fell victim at Walmart the other evening so there's that book as well.
I'm pretty sure I featured "Good Karma" on a Waiting on Wednesday post eons ago so when I saw it at Walmart the other night, I knew this puppy was going home with me. What can I say, sometimes I'm just that predictable.
The next four were additions to my Kindle. "The Ghost of Molly Holt" was free and all I can say is I better enjoy thus author because I think I grab a new free book by her each week. "The Freak Show Below" was also free but may have already went back up in price. I thought for sure I owned "Blood Kiss" but I didn't so when I saw it as a deal for less than $3.00 I jumped on it and at the same time bought "Shade of Honor" which was the same price as well.
I was thrilled to get a copy of "Optical Delusion" by Hunter Shea especially given how much I loved "Just Add Water." The 80's child in me came out when I requested "99 Red Balloons." Does anyone else recall that song? Everyone knows I love my dog books so "The Dog Walker's Diary" was a given. Finally "Dead Lines" has a blurb on the cover by Stephen King - that's all it took.
So what books did you add this week???
I had forgotten to get Optical Delusions so thanks for that reminder as I grabbed that one up and I also put 99 Red Balloons (only know that song cause it was a song on my music video game I had...lol), and Dead Lines in for request. :)
ReplyDeleteI figured you might be interested in those ones.
DeleteI'm sort of on the fence about Greg Bear's books, which is why I just sort of glanced at Dead Lines and moved right on. However, I didn't know it was a horror/thriller (or at least, I assume, since Stephen King blurbed it) and now I'm admit I'm a lot more curious!

I've not read any Greg Bear. I thought the synopsis sounded good on this one, however it was the Stephen King blurb that sold it.
DeleteI HATED that song! It made me want to pull my hair out when they played it at school discos! I don't have Optical Delusions yet or Just Add Water. Waiting for that bad boy in paperback! My dad loved The Jersey Devil which he has been reading all week. No surprise to see that you couldn't resist the dog book! Hope you all have a good weekend at the farm!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your dad is enjoying The Jersey Devil. I find that Shea's books often read like B horror movies which I think can be fun if done right.
Delete99 Red Balloons! I remember that song well (and to this day I still can't understand the words). Greg Bear usually writes science fiction, but that looks like horror. Interesting! And I've been seeing the Hunter Shea book around a lot.
ReplyDeleteNo, I basically remember everyone just signing along to "99 red balloons go by."
DeleteGreat haul! Blood Kissed looks really awesome! Are you referring to the song 99 luftballons? I love 80's music but unfortunately I'm from the 90s.
ReplyDeleteYeah. There was two versions with one being English. I forgot all about the original version.
DeleteOw, I didn't even know there was a version in English, I guess it shows I'm European :p
DeleteI've seen Blood Kissed on a lot of lists this week, I should check it out. Great haul - have a great weekend!!

DeleteWow so many books and so many interesting covers and titles :) Enjoy! My Shelf
ReplyDeleteI am always thrilled to see all the new covers lined up side by side.
DeleteWoo hoo I remember that song! They just used it on 12 Monkeys (a sci fi time travel show I gush about) in a very inventive way- it's on Youtube I think. That one looks great, as does Good Karma and Blood Kissed.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to check out 12 Monkeys. I remember you mentioning it on your blog and being interested.
DeleteI do want to read Blood Kissed. I am trying to not buy books until I am actually ready to read them. Good Karma looks like a good one as well. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had that willpower. I hope I can get to Good Karma soon.
DeleteI love it when I feature a book for Waiting on Wednesday and then I end up obtaining the book! Good Karma looks fun. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous weekend, Barb. =)
Check out my STS post!
Yea, next year I'm hoping to do some sort of challenge tying in with W.O.W./Can't Wait Wed. books.
