Stacking the Shelves (120) / Sunday Post - I Hit the Library!!!!

Stacking the Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves or TBR piles, may it be physical or virtual.  This means you can include books you buy in a physical store, online, books you borrow from the library or friends, review books, gifts and of course, ebooks! The original meme was started over at Tynga's Reviews. And it now has a new co-host where individuals can link up as well - Marlene from Reading Reality.  Clicking on the book (or title) should take you to the Goodreads page.  I'm also now linking up with the Sunday Post which is hosted by Kimberly@Caffeinated Book ReviewerI'm hoping to discover some new blogs to love.

This week I managed to hit both of my local libraries - like I needed more stuff to read.  However, it seems like at the closest one, all my holds came in at one and I have better luck finding graphic novels at the other one.  I had to grab "Lumberjanes Vol. 3" and "Vol. 4" because I'm anxious to continue this series.  "Ravina The Witch?" was a total impulse grab based on the cover. I had put a request in for "Roar," "The Disappearances," and "The White Road of the Moon" and they all came in the same week.

Next I obtained a few digital books from Amazon.  Stormi recommended "Engaged in Trouble" to me so it was a #StormiMadeMeDoIt purchase.  Both "The Summer Job" and "In the Eye of Hugo" were on sale for $0.99 so I grabbed them.

Finally I was thrilled to receive the following for review.  I was really intrigued by the cover and synopsis of "Sparked."  Many might remember I featured "House of Ash" on my Can't Wait Wednesday feature this past week and two days later received approval on Netgalley.  I've wanted "Berserker" since I first saw it being talked about on BookTube and "Creatures of Will & Temper" is set in Victorian London and features demons and cults so it immediately caught my attention.

So, have you read any of these?  And what exciting things did you add to your shelves this week???

  1. After seeing House of Ash featured on your blog, I just had to request it too. It sounds like a great YA horror. And I see Cassius has convinced you to try Roar, which features a prince with his namesake :)

  2. Not much book excitement for me this week but my dad and I are watching Game of Thrones together and he's went into a bit of shock at Joffrey's wedding which we've just finished watching! Now he's shouting at the football...and I'm getting a headache! Enjoy your books!

    1. The last Lumberjanes was a tad weaker for me but I still love them and will keep reading them as long as I can grab them from the library.

  8. I need to get my hands on a copy of Roar. I read the sneak peek from Netgalley, and it was awesome, so every time I see another blogger with a copy of it, I get jealous. - Katie

    1. Seems to be getting a lot of hype. Unfortunately that's the kiss of death for me usually.

  10. My local library doesn't have much for graphic novels. I have access to another library that does, but it's too far for me. I use that one for digitals and inter-library loans from Houston. :( I hope you enjoy them!

  11. I really need to hit up my library. There are some series I want to binge read and they are the best for that! I loved Roar so I hope you love that one too!

    1. I don't do well with binge reading books. I like variety and can't read series straight through very well. However, I do love my library and am very fortunate.

  13. I just found out about Beserker myself and am so torn about it -- The Norse angle and even Norway grabbed me, but the American frontier bit gives me pause bc in my head it means the American West, and I don't like that.

    1. I don't mind books set in the West here and there but definitely couldn't read them all the time. I've heard good things about this one so my fingers are crossed.

  16. You sure got a LOT of books this week, Barb!! WOW!! I'm not familiar with most of them, but I did feature "Roar" on a "Can't Wait Wednesday" post a while back. And....I bought it at B&N just about last week!! YAAAAY!!! I really need to get into it soon!! (Pssst....you know what? The day I saw it, I took a copy and hid it in another section, because I couldn't buy it right then. Good thing, too! When I returned the following week, THAT was the only copy left! Lol.)

I will check out the other books, on Goodreads. "Engaged In Trouble" and "The White Road of the Moon" look good! As you know, no book that appears to be in the horror genre will grab my attention! Lol.

    HUGS & SMOOCHES TO YOU AND THE BOYS!! WOOF, WOOF!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)

    1. Awesome trick and glad you got your copy. Apparently it has a Prince Cassius so it's a must read right? I've heard The White Road of the Moon features a dog so I'm anxious to see how.

Your books have very eye catching covers. Happy reading!

  18. I haven't read any of the books you have listed, some of them look really interesting. I've seen Roar all over, but I'm holding out for awhile, I just have too many books to reads. After 15 years I recently got a new library card, and I LOVE it. I use it all time and I'm so thankful for ebook and audiobook loans. Have a wonderful day Barb and I hope you enjoy all your new reads. :)
