TTT - Books I MIGHT Re-read Eventually

The top 10 weekly meme used to be hosted by The Broke and the Bookish but starting this week, they are handing over the reins to ThatArtsyReaderGirl who can be found HERE.  Each week she will focus on lists which cover various topics related to books and reading.

This week's actual topic is "Books I Could Re-read Forever."  Well, I RARELY re-read books, so instead, I'm sharing with you books I MIGHT re-read eventually, or in some cases, ones I've actually read more than once.

BOOKS I'VE RE-READ:

One of my all-time favorite King novels.

Do you see a theme developing here?

I've been known to read these to the pups from time to time.  In fact, when our first three boxers got sick and were close to passing, they all got special Winnie-the-Pooh tales -probably more for my comfort than theirs.

BOOKS I MIGHT RE-READ

There was such a long time between this book and its sequel, that I really need to read it again before tacking Spectacle.  It remains one of my favorite books though.

Another one of my faves and since they just cast Milo Vintimiglia as the MC in the upcoming movie, a re-read will definitely be in order.

I actually read this in 2003 and recently learned there are more books in this series - in fact, there are 6!  I will have to re-read this one if I hope to ever continue.  I also love the movie but then John Cusack is one of my favorite actors.

It's looking like this year's King re-read will be Christine.

I remember loving this series and do hope to re-read the Wendy Ward trilogy soon.

So there you have it!  What books could you read forever???

  1. Menagerie is one I really need to read, I love the circus angle and the grittiness. And Winnie the Pooh is the best, adult or not. :)

    1. It's an awesome book. I LOVED LOVED LOVED it. But it took so long for the second one. I like the new covers though so I think I'll just buy them both eventually.

  2. *shivers* Stephen King! But I didn't even know Must Love Dogs was a series!

  3. I don't know how I'd never heard of Menagerie, but that's going straight on my TBR. I also hadn't heard that The Art of Racing in the Rain was being made into a movie - definitely going to need to watch that when it's released!

    1. I think you'd love Menagerie. I can't wait to see Enzo, and for that matter, Milo Ventimiglia, on the big screen.

  4. I've read some of these more than once. Horror seems to be the genre I reread the most. When I get stuck over what to read next I pull a favorite off the shelf.

    1. Yes, some people might find it odd but The Shining is sort of a winter comfort read for me.

  5. The Shining is one I'd reread for sure, one of his best. And The Art of Racing in the Rain is a book I'd love to read. I'm seeing lots of books from lists this week that I keep telling myself I need to get to. I love having reminders!

    1. You really need to. I will warn you, it's kind of sad but it's done so well, that it doesn't really effect you negatively - much.

  6. I still have not picked up a King book. I know shame on me. But I love seeing that there are more than one on here means I should probably make one of these a goal for this year ;)

    1. Yep...I would recommend The Shining over Salem's Lot. I found Salem's Lot slow in places but still loved it.

  7. Menagerie has been on my wishlist for awhile. The premise sounds really interesting.

  8. The Art of Racing made me smile. What a cute cover. Some other good looking books. I don't have time to reread any more, not since blogging and all the free books. There are so many new ones I want to read I wish a vampire would stop in and turn me. LOL

  9. Don't hate me but I really didn't like The Shining. I felt like I missed something because everyone else seems to love it. =/

    1. Hey, I could never hate anyone for not liking a book - there's so much out there and we all have different tastes. I really liked the sequel too, Doctor Sleep, but a lot of people didn't so I kind of know how it feels to be different :)

    1. Someone else who has read Menagerie. I'm surprised that book doesn't get more hype!

  12. I need to reread The Shining because I think it has a sequel now? I don’t know. I’m way behind on my King reading.

  13. I just re-read Winnie-the-Pooh last year. I am watching Goodbye Christopher Robin this week. I hope it is good. I have heard mixed reviews. I haven't read much Stephen King but I do enjoy his movies based on books.

    1. Did you know there is a Goodbye Christopher Robin book? I've not seen the movie but recently discovered the novel.

  14. I don't think I've read any of the ones on this list for a first time! (Well, maybe Christine. I do remember that I at least *started* reading it.) I love to re-read books. Its like visiting an old friend.

  15. Salem's Lot is on my tbr and I really hope I'll get to it soon. Christine was a great read! Winnie the Pooh is one of the books I am currently reading to my 1 year old. :)

    1. Yea, another Pooh fan. Someday I'll have to post the story of how I became a Pooh fan and why I have the only Eeyore who smiles.

  16. King is hard to reread, just because his books are typically so bulky, but there are a few I definitely wouldn't mind reliving!

  17. I might actually read The Shining one day. I've always wanted to give it a try.

  18. I didn't know Must Love Dogs was a book! Yes! Once I get my horror fill, I'll have to pick that one up. That's so exciting! I read many of the same when I was younger, such as Christine. Loved that one! I don't remember reading The Shining though. I need to get to that one.

    1. I'm getting ready to start some horror. I'm reading MG now and just finished 2 cozies. I miss it but then I'm sure you understand.

  19. haha I DO see a theme! You are my heroine! I could never finish a King book let alone reeread it! GOOD FOR YOU!

    1. Yes you could. Do you ever think you'll give him a try?

    2. I have tried to read King. Unfortunately even though I love his stories and I think he is a genius I find that his books branch out to way too many different stories for me to follow so I watch his movies instead which are summarized in two hours :)

  20. I always found it a bit sad that Pooh wasn't the smartest bear. I always felt sorry for him!

    1. Yes, Pooh was not very bright but I think that made him endearing. My husband knows how much I love Pooh and teases me about it. He made up a story where Pooh was a dopehead, rabbit was the supplier (because he had the garden), Tigger was ADHD and Piglet was genetically challenged. MEAN Mr. Barb.

  21. King is usually a hit or miss kind of author for me. I remember loving Misery but hating Insomnia..

    1. Some of his books can be definite misses I think. I love the ride of reading them but even I would admit sometimes his endings aren't the strongest. Don't even get me started on Under the Dome!

  22. The Winnie the Pooh books were some of the first books I remember getting from the library, so I bought them in hardcover recently. I will be giving them a re-read soon. I will have to remember about reading to dogs when they are ill. I never thought to do that.💜

  23. I used to re-read all the time until I started blogging and taking on review books. I didn't have time but I'm going to make the time this year!

I'm really curious to see if my favorites still hold up now that I've read so many books.

  24. You know, I've never actually read Christine?? It's one of the few oldies of his I have yet to get around to. Soon though. :) Hopefully.
