First up Laura Daleo sent me a copy of her new paranormal/fantasy book "The Vampire Within." The MC is named Cass and she even inscribed it that she hopes he can live up to my Cass.
Next I grabbed a few free/cheap books from Amazon. "The Other Brother" was free and I've read a Massey book before and really enjoyed it. I've been wanting to read "Turn of the Screw" so I grabbed it for free. I have a horror sequel to it and realized I needed the original. I also saw "The Blizzard" and since it was free and I love book set in wintry, snowy setting (BOOKS Mother Nature - not real life - are you listening) I couldn't resist.
And finally I received a copy of "They Feed" for review through my Spring Into Horror Reading Challenge.
So what books did you add this week????
Nice, quite a few dark and gritty books added to the library this week, I see. I approve, lol! :D

DeleteI've been wanting to read Turn of the Screw, too. There seem to be a lot of literary references to it and it sounds like such an interesting read. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteNatflix&Books
It seems it has become quite popular lately. I really have little idea what it is about.
DeleteI’ve always meant to read The Turn of the Screw. It’s one of those books that I’ve been putting off for years for no good reason. I hope you enjoy all these!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
I hope to get to it sometime this year. I became interested when I saw someone talking about the "sequel."
DeleteCongrats on the free/cheap books those are always great finds! Also I hope the Cass is all you want :) My Shelf
ReplyDeleteThanks Eve.

ReplyDeleteYou too!
DeleteI almost signed up for the tour of Vampire Within but had too much on my plate already. They Feed looks good.
ReplyDeleteI'm not part of the tour but the author contacted me and I've interviewed her on my blog before so I couldn't resist.
DeleteI hope you enjoy your new reads :) have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou know, I MIGHT be interested in "The Vampire Within", unless, of course, there's a bona fide horror component to it.... If there are any elements of erotica involved, of course that would also be a complete turnoff! Lol.
ReplyDeleteAs for the other books....well, you know how I feel about the horror genre, lol. (I'm stepping out on a limb with "Dread Nation", that's for sure!!)
Hope you enjoy all of these, Barb!! HUGS TO YOU AND THE PUPS, AND WOOF, WOOF TO THEM!!! <3 <3 <3 :) :) :)
I'll keep you informed about the horror component in Vampire Within. I don't really expect one so I think it would be a safe read. Can't wait to see how you do with Dread Nation!
DeleteLooks like a good haul to me. :) I hope you enjoy them all. That inscription about Cass is awesome.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen. I was sick all weekend and read chick lit - go figure.
DeleteI love the look of your books this week. I love horror and thrillers. I hope you enjoy all your new reads!
ReplyDeleteMary my #SundayRoundup #13!
Thanks Mary. I've been burned by a few thrillers but on the whole, I'm hoping these ones are good!
DeleteThe cover and title of They Feed just make me want to grab it! What a nice thing to write in your book as well...Cass must be very excited about that!
ReplyDeleteCass is thrilled...and wants to rub it in Booker's face but I won't let him :)
DeleteOoooh! They Feed looks intense!!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it?
DeleteSo cute that she inscribed it to Cass! I'm reading They Feed for #SpringHorror too. It looks promising.
ReplyDeleteNice. I wonder what They Feed will be like. I look forward to your review of that one.
ReplyDeleteLynn :D
